Rachel's POV:
I walked home at a very slow pace. I studied every tree I passed and every parked car, anything to keep me from trying to figure out what had just occurred and why. When I arrived home I set my bookbag down on the couch and immediately went over to the kitchen.
"Why are you home so late?" Ethan asked as he continued to rapidly type on his laptop.
"I walked home," I spoke as I grabbed a handful of grapes and stuffing them into the pocket of my hoodie.
Ethan looked up from his laptop screen and made eye contact with me. He gave me an expression of full suspicious, expressing how unconvinced he was.
"For this long?" He motioned towards the clock hanging in the kitchen.
I looked at the time, it was nearly 5 in the afternoon.
"It was a very long walk," I gave him a forced smile.
"Right..." Ethan slowly nodded his head as he continued the task he was previously doing.
I began to walk up the stairs as Ethan shouted from behind me.
"Jacqueline's here by the way."
"Okay," I shouted back as I continued to walk up the stairs.
Just as I reached the top step, I notice a dark figure sitting on the top step in the shadows. I stopped dead in my tracks, leaning forward to get a better view.
"What are you doing," Jacqueline asked.
"What am I doing? What are you doing just sitting on my top step looking like some sort of ghost or killer?"
Jacqueline laughed as she stood up and pulled me up the stairs.
"You're so dramatic," Jacqueline giggled.
"She really is," Ethan agreed as he walked passed us up the stairs.
Jacqueline's cheeks became a shade of pink as she watched Ethan walk into his room.
"Can you be anymore obvious?" I rolled my eyes.
"Shhh, he'll hear you," Jacqueline hushed me in a whisper.
She pulled my hand and quickly dragged me into my room. I stumbled onto my bed as Jacqueline shut the door.
"Thanks for almost giving me rug burn," I groaned.
Jacqueline rolled her eyes as she leaned against the door, her cheeks still a light shade of pink.
"When did you even start liking him? You told me he was like a brother to you a while back," I mentioned.
"That was until I realized how good looking he was. I mean look at his hair and his eyes. And his smile can kill someone it's so beautiful to look at," Jacqueline went on and on.
I felt slightly uncomfortable as it was my older brother she was talking about. Don't get me wrong, I love Ethan to death, but I didn't want to hear how 'attractive' he was.
"Alright alright I get it," I tried to shut her up, only being responded with a giggled.
"So," Jacqueline began as she took a seat on my bed, "What happened at Kaiden's house?"
