Chapter 36

Rachel's POV:
The rest of the car ride was silent. Piper had taken most of Louisa's jewelry and the drugs that I assumed Piper was sent to collect.

"This is a nice ring," Piper examined it as she drove, "Do you want it?"

Piper handed me the ring. I took it from her hand.

"Thanks."

I looked at the ring closely. The ring was beautiful, and it looked expensive. It was more of an accessory styled ring. put the ring in my pocket. I couldn't bring myself to place it on my finger.

I cringed at the awful taste of vomit in my mouth. When Piper made me carry the body and hide it, I ended up vomiting in a nearby bush. The sight of a murder that I had committed was too much for me.

Kaiden's POV:
I walked to the tables near the end of the room. Anthony sat with his head resting on the table, while Francis fixed his receding hair.

"What are you calling this meeting for?" I asked once I took a seat next to Anthony, who awoke by the sound of the chair moving.

"Be patient," Francis cleared his throat.

I pulled out my phone while I waited for this surprise meeting to start. I looked through the thousands of texts from Stephanie, apologizing and begging for forgiveness. I cleared all of the notifications from my lock screen until one message popped up.

*Jade: You'll never believe what I just found out.*

*Kaiden: what is it?*

*Jade: I need to tell you this in person...*

*Kaiden: ur a real pain in the x(*

*Jade: haha xD*

"Put that away kiddo," Francis tapped my shoulder.

I shut off my phone and slid it into my pocket. Francis stood up from the table and slammed his fist on it.

"Alright people listen up," Francis projected his voice, "We have news on the Royal Shadows."

A number of members nudged him to go on while others began to chatter.

"It seems like our little friend Victor has recruited a new Shadow," Francis rubbed his big hands together.

"Who?" many of the men asked.

"Care to explain Cyan?" Francis turned towards Cyan, who was handing over a baby to Anthony.

"Isn't he Paulette's baby?" Anthony asked as he placed a pacifier in the baby's mouth.

"Yeah, she asked me to watch him while she called her sister Louisa. She got worried when Louisa didn't come back," Cyan explained.

"I'm sure she's fine," Richard chimed in, "She probably just went home."

"Can we get back on track here?" Francis spoke, "Cyan explain what you found out."

Cyan stood up, "I did some inside research and found out that Victor has multiple children, some he has recruited as Shadows, and others he has no contact with at all. According to what I found, he brought in a daughter and she's adjusting fast. Victor's arranged a marriage between her and the Eleven Demons heir."
