Rachel's POV:
"Do you need anything?" I asked as I headed towards the kitchen.

"No I'm alright," Kaiden responded as he shut his eyes.

"Nothing for your eye?" I asked again.

"No."

I opened his refrigerator and grabbed a bottled water, and an ice pack for his black eye. I closed the refrigerator and walked over to the couch, where Kaiden was lying down.

"Here," I said as I placed the ice pack on his eyes.

"I said I didn't need it," he groaned as he adjusted it.

"I don't care," I responded as I opened my bottled water.

"How much do we have left for this project?" Kaiden asked as he began to sit up, "it's due Monday."

I checked our progress and the other finished experiments that we had.

"One more," I informed him.

"Let's get this over with," he said as he got up and attempted to walk over to the kitchen.

"You're injured, I'll just bring the materials over to the couch," I insisted as I rushed over to the counter and grabbed them.

"It's fine, this is nothing," Kaiden shrugged it off.

I rolled my eyes at my stubborn partner. I set the materials back on the counter and waited for him as he limped towards me. The condensation on my water bottle began to leave a circle on the counter.

"Okay so we already have the experiment done, and the video just needs to be edited," I stated as I grabbed his laptop and placed it on the counter.

"You're going to edit it right?" Kaiden asked me as he leaned against the refrigerator.

"I thought you were going to do that," I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Can't you just do it? You already have the laptop anyways," Kaiden scratched the back of his head.

"Fine, whatever."

I turned around and began to edit the video after tossing a black marker at him.

"Here," I tossed the marker. "Start the poster."

"Rachel I'm injured," Kaiden insisted as he put the marker down.

I let out a frustrated huff, "I thought it was nothing."

Kaiden remained quiet as he shrugged his shoulders. Slowly throughout this project he had stopped trying as hard to get it completed.

"For fuck's sake Kaiden it's just a god damn poster," I began to shout. "You either make the poster or edit the video it's one or the other because I am not going to do both on my own."

"Jeez," Kaiden mumbled to himself as he picked up the marker, "Is it that time of the month already?"

I chose to ignore his comment as I continued to edit the video we had previously recorded the night before, when Kaiden had gotten out of the hospital. I'm still not sure what happened because well, he won't tell me.

He spent a whole week in the hospital and got out on Friday, yesterday. Since Kaiden's been out of the hospital, he hasn't brought it up at all.

After about an hour and a half of silence, I finished editing the video.

"I'm done," I announced as I shut off his laptop.

"I just need to write the title," Kaiden informed me as he wrote.
