Rachel's POV:
I sat in the chair as I stared at him, breathing, still unconscious. His chest rose up and down with every breath he took.It was Thursday. This has been the longest week of my life. So much had happened within a matter of two days, and here's where it's gotten me.
"Visiting hours are over Miss," the nurse entered the room to inform me.
"Alright, thank you," I replied to the nurse.
I grabbed my bookbag off the floor as I stood up from the chair. I walked over to the hospital bed.
"Wake up soon Kaiden," I whispered as I squeezed his hand in mine.
I walked away from Kaiden's unconscious body and left the room. I walked down the hospital hallways and out of the building.
I just don't understand. One second I'm solving math problems, the next second I get a reply from Andrew telling me Kaiden was in the hospital. How? Hell if I know.
Kaiden's POV:
I woke up with an aching body. I was definitely conscious, I just couldn't bare to open my eyes and speak to anyone. It would've been hard to explain this situation to anyone.I didn't move my body, mainly because I couldn't. My entire body ached too much, yet I was only hit twice. How I got into this predicament is a wild story from last night.
Previous Night
I grabbed my two guns and tucked them into my pockets. Sure it's not safe, but I was so used to carrying guns like they're not what separates life and death.
"Here," Francis approached me, handing me a cigarette.
"Thanks," I took the cigarette from his hand.
I grabbed the lighter from his other hand and lit the cigarette. After successfully lighting the cigarette, I handed the lighter back to Francis. He walked over to Richard, who was instructing the women to stay put with the children.
"That shit'll kill you ya know," Anthony commented as he looked at me disapprovingly.
I stared at him for a couple of seconds, baffled.
"We're about to attack and shoot up a whole gang and you're worried about a cigarette killing me?" I spoke as I exhaled smoke.
"Why try to kill yourself faster?" Anthony pointed out.
"Let me live Anthony," I grew annoyed.
Anthony shrugged his shoulders and walked over to Samantha, who had came to the safe house to help out with the children.
"Alright, everybody listen up," Francis stood in the center of the room, shouting. "This is how tonight is going to play out. Half of you are going to enter from behind their safe house, while the rest enter in the front. We make sure to stay hidden in the shadows until we're in the building. You shoot anybody you see, man or woman. We can't take any chances of letting them take over the Diamond Bloods."
All the 120 members started shouting supportively. All the members of the Diamond Bloods grabbed as many guns as they could carry and brought them out into the ammo car.
The car was supposed to be driven near the safe house, giving us easy access to more guns if needed.
"Alright everyone grab at least two guns to take with you, the rest go in the ammo car," Anthony instructed everyone.
