*This is a somewhat short chapter just because*
Rachel's POV:
The bell rang. I quickly got out of my seat and grabbed my bookbag. I sped walked to the door and out of the classroom. I mentally debated on whether or not to make a right and go to gym class or make a left and go to the field again. As I proceed to make a left, a hand is placed on my shoulder. I turn around to look at who it is.
"You left your phone in Zetterstrum's class" the grayish blue eyes of my lab partner stared into my dull brown ones.
I look down at the phone in his hand.
"Thank you" I simply reply as I take the phone out of his hand.He gives me a nod before walking off. I turn back to the direction I was walking in. I walked out of the building in the unmonitored hallway. I walk quietly to the field. The security in my school was awful. People could walk in and out of here and no one would notice.
As I sat down on my spot on the bleaches from the previous day, the announcements went off.
"Good morning students, the pep rally will be held third period on the football field. Students will report to their third period class and wait to be called out." Mr. Erickson's voice projected through the loudspeaker.I figured there would be no point in sitting here and having to leave before the pep rally, so I walked back inside. I walked down the halls to the gym. As I opened the door to the gym, a volleyball came in my direction. I took a step back attempting to dodge the ball.
"Sorry" I heard I voice shout from farther down the gym.
I toss the volleyball back and go hang out in the locker room until second period is over.
Eventually third period came around and we were called out to go to the field. Because juniors were the third class to get called down, there weren't that many bleachers left.I looked around for a good place to sit. As my eyes wander around the crowd of over excited freshmen and bored sophomores, my eyes land on the crazy maniac waving her arms at me.
"RACH OVER HERE" I can hear Jacquline scream through the shouting of the freshmen.
I made my way past all the people on the bleachers and reach my best friend.I wrapped my arms around her and she did the same. We pulled away after laughing and sat down. The pep rally at school were okay, but they never really interested me. I usually just look around at the crowd.
I looked at the bottom row all the way to the far left. Someone gets up and walks away from the football field. Weird.
Kaiden's POV:
I looked down at my phone.*time's up*
I rolled my eyes and I deleted the text.
Immediately, my phone began to rang. I got up and walked away from the football field. I left the school all together and walked to the end of the block.
I got to a car in an empty street and looked inside. I needed to go fast but I was vehicle-less today. I searched around to make sure no one was around. The streets were empty and the only sound that could be heard was the blowing of the wind. I grabbed the nearest heaviest thing I could find, which happened to be a small rock. I threw it into the driver's seat window. The alarm went off immediately, ruining the silence that was here a couple of seconds ago.
I quickly unlocked the car and somehow got the car to start without the keys. I drove off to the warehouse.
________________________________"Where's the ring?" Francis eyed me up and down.
I huff and cross my arms. "I told you I wasn't going to marry her."
Francis said nothing, shaking his head slowly as he began to glare at me. "I hoped it wouldn't come down to this Kaiden Gray, I really had faith in you."
With that, he left. What did he mean? Come down to what?
Rachel's POV:
"Do you have tutoring today?" I managed to ask before Ethan began to honk the horn from his car repeatedly."Yea, I have two students today actually" Jacqueline sighed as she walked me to Ethan's car.
We briefly said goodbye and parted ways. I opened the door to Ethan's car and got in. After greeting each other like we usually did, he began to pull out of the parking lot and drove home.
Tonight wasn't a very exciting night. Logan had to work late today so he didn't come back until late at night. Ethan had to leave to make it back to his college campus in order to get what he considered a 'good night beauty sleep' which consisted of 10 hours. I was all alone in the house. It's not that I wasn't used to being alone, since I usually am for weeks.
After contemplating on either watching a movie on Netflix or doing homework, I decided that I would do my homework and get it out of the way. I unzipped my bag and pulled out what I thought was my chemistry notebook. As I flipped through the pages, all that was there were doodles and a couple of words every now and then. Just as the handwriting began to seem clearer, I heard my phone ring.
"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.
"Girl you won't believe who has your chem notebook" Jacqueline purred.
"How'd you know I'm missing my notebook?" My eyes grew in shock.
"Because Kaiden told me" Jacqueline squealed through the phone.
"Wh-why'd you talk to Kaiden?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Becauseeeeee, I tutor him" Jacqueline spoke as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"What?? Really?? In what??" So many questions spilled out all at once I didn't know which one I wanted her to answer first.
"Yes Rach, I tutor him in French. He's actually a really cool guy, when he's not being a dick or with his annoying ass girlfriend" I could just se the eye roll Jacqueline was giving right now.
We continued to gossip until she told me one thing that made me a little nervous.
"He wants his notebook back" she bluntly said.
"I'll just give it to him tomorrow" I tried to keep my voice steady. Why did I feel nervous? What was so difficult about returning a notebook?
"He said he wanted it tonight. Something about it being important for something. I don't know for what, I didn't wanna ask and seem like I was being nosy" Jacqueline babbled on and on.
"He texted me his address and told me to give it to you. I'll text it to you. I think you should go return it because it seemed very important."
I didn't want to go. Jacqueline ended the call after saying goodbye, and almost immediately sent me his address, seeming a little too eager for me to go and give him his notebook, something with little to no important in my opinion.
'I'll just give it to him tomorrow' I told myself.
