Rachel's POV:
"I'll just slide a note under his door," I whispered to Jacqueline as we stood outside of Ethan's shut door.Jacqueline had peeked in to find him sleeping. I grabbed a sticky note and wrote where I was going and the address of the location.
I slid the note under his door as we made our way down the stairs. Jacqueline typed the address into her map app on her phone as I shut the front door, locking it behind me. We got into her car as the app directed us towards the location.
Her cousins were known for throwing wild parties, mainly because they had the money to do so. I was never really sure where they got all the money they had, but I never really questioned it. Karen had told Jacqueline that her parents had gone off on a vacation for two weeks and left them money, which she used for this random party.
"According to this, we're about 10 minutes away," Jacqueline mentioned as her phone continued to speak the directions to her.
I looked outside the windows, noticing the houses we passed by. Considering it was only at the end of February, it got dark outside rather early.
"We're here," Jacqueline announced as she searched for a parking space.
There were about three dozen cars already parked while more followed behind us. After driving around for about 5 minutes, we finally found a parking spot. After parking the car, Jacqueline and I got out and entered the location.
The venue was enormous. There were about a thousand people there dancing, none of them showing their faces. Most of the people wore black clothing, some wearing white. There was an enormous chandelier hanging over the dance floor and stairs leading to who knows where. The venue seemed perfect for a sweet 15 or 16.
"Lets go dance," Jacqueline pulled my arm excitedly towards the crowd on the dance floor.
I didn't recognize the song that was playing, but the beat was extremely catchy. Jacqueline wrapped her arms around my neck and began swaying her body, as did I. After dancing to a couple of songs, the heels that I had worn were starting to become uncomfortable.
"Let's go get drinks," I shouted over the music.
Jacqueline nodded her head as we walked over to the bar.
"What can I get you two ladies?" The bartender asked.
"Two beers," Jacqueline shouted as the bartender nodded.
He brought back two clear glasses with beer and handed them to us. We thanked him as we walked back to the dance floor. My feet were killing me but I ignored the pain as I enjoyed myself.
"Hey, I see Karen and Cade," Jacqueline pointed out, "Let's go say hi."
I followed Jacqueline out of the enormous crowd of people grinding on each other and dancing uncontrollably, almost knocking my glass over.
"Jacqueline? Is that you?" Karen shouted through the music as she tried to figure out if it was Jacqueline behind the mask.
"The one and only," Jacqueline made a pose before giggled.
Cade and Karen both laughed as they greeted Jacqueline. Then the attention was turned to me.
"This is Rachel, you've met a couple of times before," Jacqueline introduced me to Cade and Karen.
"Thank you so much for coming," Karen smiled at me.
"No problem, it's been fun so hard," I commented with a smile.
