Rachel's POV:
"What? Why?" Logan asked."I just don't think I want to stay here. At least not right now," I responded.
Ethan stayed quiet for the longest time, staring at his shoes.
"I-I thought we were all fine now. I thought everything was good between us," Logan tried to reason.
"We are," I rushed out with reassurance, "I just think it'd be best if I wasn't... here."
"Let her do what she wants," Ethan said slightly agitated, "If she wants to go then let her."
Logan held his forehead frustrated.
"I... fine."
"Fine?" I gasped slightly, shocked myself that he had given up so easily.
He shrugged, shaking his head slowly.
"I can't stop you."
I nodded, understandingly. There was nothing but silence when I turned around and walked upstairs to my room. Once I got to my room, I grabbed my phone and dialed my mom's number. It took about 3 rings before she answered.
"Hello?"
"Mom?"
"Hi honey," she sounded a bit suspicious, "Is something wrong?"
"No everything's fine. I was just wondering..."
"Yes?"
"...If it's okay if I go and stay with you and dad in New York?"
"Did something happen?"
"No-"
"We knew Logan wasn't going to take good care of you," she muttered more to herself than to me, "Of course you can come stay with us."
"Really?"
"Yes Rachel. I'll have your dad pick you up tonight. We can figure out your schooling and stuff once you get here."
I nodded.
"Hello?"
"Okay yeah," I said after realizing she wasn't here in person and didn't see me nodding.
"Alright honey I'll see you soon."
"Okay, bye mom."
She hung up the phone so I tossed it onto my bed. There was a suitcase that I kept at the back of my closet behind all my clothes and shoes which I pulled out. I started packing a bunch of clothes, up until the suitcase was full. I wasn't planning on being gone for too long, but definitely longer than just a vacation.
When I looked at the time on my phone, it was almost midnight. I wasn't sure when my dad was going to get here, or even how for that matter. After closing up my suitcase, I put on a random t-shirt and some sweats and decided I'd just go to bed. My lockscreen lit up with another missed call from Kaiden, which I ignored as I planted my face on my pillow and fell asleep.
_______________________________When I woke up, the sun was shining bright. It was noon.
"I slept a full 12 hours," I thought to myself, feeling very accomplished.
My dad still hadn't called me to tell me he was outside or even on his way. I waited for a while, laying on my bed the entire time (after brushing my teeth of course). After about an hour or two, my dad finally called to tell me he was here. Just then, I heard the doorbell ring.
I jumped out of bed and grabbed my suitcase. It was hard but I managed to carry it downstairs. My dad was hugging Ethan and asking about Logan's whereabouts.
