Perseus sits on top of an ice formation without a shirt, breathing in and out while trying to expand his senses. The air around him grows colder as his shadow enlarges five feet in every direction to surround him. Ruby red eyes open on the shadows and gleaming white teeth grin in a lipless mouth. Dyrnwyn and Excalibur appear on either side of him cloaked in fire and ice respectively, canceling the other out. Perseus continues emptying and distancing his body of any foreign influences and the skin of his left arm flakes off to show the pearly bones gleaming in the sun.
His eyes twitch when a total of ten figures are equally placed on the outer edge of his shadow. Seven are just formless shadows with the only difference being the symbols etched onto their chests. Thrafsma and Empathy watch in silence while the Darkness in serpent form curls around itself to get comfy. Perseus breathes in and their forms grow little vapor tails that start to approach him until he breathes out. When he breathes out a golden mist is released from his right hand to float in the air around him in a ring formation that adds to his swords' power.
Deep inside Perseus' soul his consciousness opens its eyes and surveys the barren waste,"Come out. I can feel your presence."
An echoing roar answers his statement and he jumps up as the ground he was standing on crumbles away. He quickly creates a platform under his feet as the rest of the soil falls away into a deep chasm. He simply watches as the chasm is filled with water and eventually floods to cover the manifestation of his soul. He stares down at the red waters as they rage and churn to cause instant death to any and all foolish enough to enter it. He continues to stare for a minute before,"You're very powerful, aren't you? And very chaotic at the same time."
The water calms for a moment before renewing with even more violent movements and the sea spray hits his shoes, melting the rubber soles. The monster's attention never wavers from the waves and tracks the faint outline that moves beneath the surface. He watches for a few moments more before bracing himself and cancels the footing under him so he falls into the water. As soon as his body is submerged his nerves are subjected to the worst sort of pain he'd ever felt, pain so deep that it directly impacts itself on his soul.
He grits his teeth and blood leaks out to stain the water around him an even darker red as he sinks downward. When he impacts the ground it's all he can do to not pass out. He glares at the silhouette of the figure in front of him and tries to move his body, only for the bones in his legs to break as soon as he starts to step forward. He falls to his knees and tries to use his arms to pull his body forward and manages to dig his fingers into the sandy floor. His body is pulled an inch forward before his hands explode and he's left with two stumps at the end of his arms.
At that point he can't hold back the screams that build in his throats and the water's rushing noise is drowned out by his echoing scream. He raises his head to look at the figure through the rushing water and his eyes, clouded by the sand carried in the water, manage to pick out four wings that extend from mid-back. The figure just stares at Perseus and slowly shuffles towards him until it's standing in front of him with its form still concealed,"You've done well to get this far. Much better than I thought you'd do."
Perseus tries to respond but a fresh wave of pain makes his jaw lock and the figure speaks,"As a reward, I will allow you to use a portion of my power. My name is-"
In the physical world Perseus' eyes shoot open as the area around him is vaporized,"Return all creation to nothingness, Anzu!"
A bright light obscures him from view and the scream of a beast that sounds as ancient as the planet itself echoes through the all the mythological realms. The Egyptian gods in the duat turn their heads as a scream that rivals Apophis' own echoes in their throne room. In the palace of the Soul King Ichibe Hyosube pauses in his meditation and conversing with Shirafude Ichimonji when a wave of spiritual power slams against his senses and he looks to the crystal containing the Soul King so see it develop minuscule cracks. He grins to himself,"Well then, this one is strong."
In the very depths of Tartarus the primordial Nyx is temporarily forced to her knees when a wave of concentrated bloodlust slams down on her. On Olympus the various minor gods of nature are thrown into panic by the presence of an unknown predator and Grover Underwood in Camp Half-Blood passes out cold. In the Crossroads the Outsider feels his champion's power writhe like a living organism and a faint grin etches itself on his face while the Darkness cackles in evil glee from the malice its host is emitting,"Ha! That's it! That's the power I've wanted to see!"
When the roar subsides and the light dims a creature wreathed in shadow and pristine water stands in Perseus' place, a massive piece of metal in its hand. It roars again and four wings made of sculpted metal spring from its back to reach out a few yards. The being growls and plants its sword in front of him, cracking the ice and forming fractures that extend for a hundred yards.
The blade itself is a length of metal that seems to be infused with blood that writhes inside the weapon. The edge is rolled and lacks any edge whatsoever while the grip appears to be a raw ingot of material hastily hammered into a cylinder. Simple strips of leather are wrapped around the cylinder to provide grip and an eye shaped pendant rests in a rough pommel. The beast breathes out and a cloud of steam rolls over the ice,"Perseus?"
The beast turns and two eyes glow behind the veil of water and darkness that covers its face. Mia and Ignitus are a few yards away from him along with Zoé,"Grrrrr!"
It grabs its sword from the ice and yanks it free, causing the group's eyes to widen. It raises the blade in the air and Mia starts,"What the hell-" and it brings it down.
A sound like thunder explodes from the impact and the ice all around the three is shattered, causing the three to fall,"Holy crap!"
The three bound to safety but a growl makes Ignitus look up just as Perseus is about to strike him down,"F***!"
He barely brings his blade up to block the hit but the force sends him flying through a falling piece of ice the size of a house and causes a massive wave when his body slams into the water. "Ignitus!" Mia yells.
She glares at the beast as it looks directly at her and raises a clawed hand before a small black ball forms in its palm,"Oh f-" and a pitch black cero slams into her. The beast cancels the attack and as it fades Mia is standing in her ressurecion,"Hah. Hah. That was too close."
Both her arms and a part of her stomach is burnt from his attack,"Thanks for the juice though!"
Electricity explodes from her feet and she screams forward with both blades positioned to puncture the beast's lungs,"This might not kill you, but you'll use up enough power to revert!"
Her vision blurs from the sheer speed at which she's traveling but hears the sound of her blades striking flesh. She grins to herself until she feels herself pulled forward to gaze up at the glowing eyes of her opponent, the tip of both blades in one of his hands. She doesn't have time to see anything else when she suddenly finds herself launched to the side and breaking through pine trees like they're toothpicks. When she regains feeling she instantly registers the feeling of her whole left side suddenly being crushed. She looks back and sees the unwieldy length of iron in the beast's hand positioned like it had been swung,"That...that can't be! I never saw his arm move! And even at his best Perseus could never cause that much damage to any of us, even with Excalibur's durability!"
She decides to put such thoughts to the side and painfully gets to her feet while focusing the majority of her energy into regenerating her wound. Her eyes widen when the beast starts to move towards her but a pillar of fire consumes it and hides it from view,"You alive Mia?!"
She grunts and lets off a weak pulse of reiatsu to let Ignitus know she's alive just as a shriek makes her cover her ears. The screaming continues and the pillar of flame is drawn into itself by an unknown source. When the pillar is dim enough Ignitus witnesses something he never thought he'd see. The beast devours the fire as it swirls into its open mouth and turns to look at Ignitus,"I hate life."
He beast roars and a sea of fire flows from its mouth. Orange flames turn a pale blue and Ignitus barely gets away with only a scorched arm and leg,"That just isn't possible! I'm immune to burns!"
The beast roars and its wings carry it towards the hollow, bastard sword ready to crush him under its weight. Ignitus quickly brings his arms up,"Stretching the limits of space and time. Majestic in silence and fearsome in form. Devourer of Heaven and Hell, stretch out your arms! Nine Sunlight Bind!"
The beast stops in mid-air, suspended in the middle of eight miniature black holes and held in place by the single one in its chest. It growls and snaps at Ignitus but cannot move from its position. The arrancar sighs,"So kido still works on him, good."
A creaking sound cuts him off from his thoughts while the black holes holding Perseus in place start to flicker,"No way."
The beast roars and the darkness and water covering it suddenly grow when it flexes its muscles, straining the black holes and causing them to deteriorate. With one last roar it breaks free and Ignitus barely has time to widen his eyes in surprise when a clawed fist slams down on his head and sends him into unconsciousness. The beast picks up the limp body and throws it to the side in time to cause Mia to run into it. The girl falters and skids past him until she's clotheslined by the rough blade and spittle flies out of her mouth.
Perseus grunts and swings his sword to the side to send Mia flying into a tree with enough force to knock her out. The sword in his hand dips towards the ground when a hand closes on his shoulder,"Percy?"
The beast growls and turns to strike down the speaker,"It's me, Zoë."
The sword arcs over her head and comes back down to embed itself up to its hilt in the ground. The beast growls again when Zoë hugs him,"Calm down Percy. There's nobody left to fight."
The beast growls and pushes her away before grabbing its head and whimpers as invisible spears strike its skull,"Grahh!"
The scream heralds another wave of pure power that causes the ground under him to crater and makes it drop its sword. It falls to its knees as pain suddenly assaults its entire body and drives it into an even deeper rage,"Yahhhh!"
It starts to get up but an arrow slams into its chest, actually breaking skin and drawing blood. The beast lifts its head up to look at Zoë's form with absolute loathing and growls before it has to use an arm to keep itself up. A burning pain emits from the arrow wound and it looks down to see most of its chest and part of its shoulders are covered in runes that extend from the impact point. The beast manages a quieted roar of fury and its sword flies into its hand before its thrown towards Zoë. The former huntress dodges the abnormal blade and fires another arrow from the bow in her hands.
The second arrow pierces the beast's left shoulder and the arm goes limp as more runes spiral around the limb, glowing white when they link together with the ones already stretching over its body. The beast growls once more before collapsing and the water covering him flows into the cracks left in the ice while the darkness dissipates like a mist. Perseus is left lying on the ground with the tattoos binding his power and body. He groans before blood starts to trickle out his mouth and he opens an eye,"Sorry about that Zoë."
Zoë makes her way over to him with her bow still out,"What in Hades' name was that?"
Perseus grins,"That, that was Anzu. That's the ultimate monster."
He keeps grinning until suddenly he winces,"I knew I should've held off until tomorrow. Can you let me up now? My body's starting to go numb from the sealing runes."
Zoë plucks the arrows out of her boyfriend's chest and he sits up while rotating both shoulders,"Damn. That form really did a number on my body, even though I've toughened up in preparation for this power. I'm guessing my left hand is completely shattered, one of my right ribs is very close to fracturing, and one of my lungs is barely working at its minimum."
He sighs,"I really hate my power sometimes."
