Sky's POV
When I woke up alone I was slightly confused and whether I want to admit it or not, I was minimally worried.
I know Harry was here last night, because I'm still wrapped in the warmth of his hoodie. My questions were answered when my phone lit up, signalling a text.
Text: Harry
"Sorry I couldn't stay last night ;) Had some things to tend to. xx. ~H"
Relief flew through me as the idea that I had dreamt the whole thing was laid to rest.
I flipped on the TV expecting to see flying colors of the Saturday cartoons on (something I somewhat enjoyed watching)... I was wrong!
That horrible, frightening siren wailed on the TV as the words "AMBER ALERT" crossed over the screen.
I'm just feeling safer and safer in this town as the weeks roll on, my gosh.
"An Amber Alert has been issued for Peyton Skyes , a local woman, age 20, who went missing from a small bar around 11 o' clock last night. She was last seen-"
I quickly turned of the TV and clenched my blanket tighter...
I knew Peyton...
She was one of the popular girls who started those horrible rumors about me. I can still remember the day I came into school and she had managed to paint the inside of my locker with nasty words.
I always hated Peyton!
She never treated anyone right, especially me!
You know those fictional popular girls, always dating the football star and bullying everyone around, especially one girl.
Peyton was one of those girls come to life and I was the victim of it all.
"Sky? Are you finally awake? I swear you've been asleep longer than you've ever been before!"
"Yes mom!"
"I know it's none of my business, but I noticed that your wearing a boys hood-"
"Friends mom! Only friends.!"
"Oh ok... Well you slept past breakfast, so lunch is on the table"
My mom always wanted me to have a boyfriend, but no one ever showed interest in me and anyone that did I pushed away. She was always pushing weird things on me that was apparently "normal for mothers and daughters". Well our relationship didn't come anywhere near close to normal.
I never wanted a boyfriend or a friend period for that matter!
I wasn't hungry and skipping meals doesn't bother me much anymore.
When I opened the door to my dark room, I screamed at the top of my lungs! A figure was perched on the tree outside my window. "HARRY STYLES!"
"Afternoon love!" he innocently smiled at me.
"You're a dead man!" I tried to look stern.
"Ok!" Harry stood up and removed one hand from the tree branch.
"HARRY! NO!!" I panicked and flew over to the window.
"Haha! So you do want me to stay?"
"Get in here now!" I demanded, grabbing his perfectly toned arm and pulling him in.
His cute brown cu-... I mean messy brown hair...
was being tamed by a gray beanie.
"Hey you know what'd look great with this hoodie Harry? Your beanie!" I grabbed the beanie, releasing his wild head of hair.
I put the beanie on and looked in the mirror, "Wow! I look am-"
My uplifting sentence was interrupted by a pair of arms picking me up and flinging me over Harry's shoulder.
"HARRY! STOP PUT ME DOWN!"
But the laughs that escaped my mouth couldn't be stopped.
"YOU WIN YOU WIN!" I yelled the words I never thought would come out of my mouth.
Harry, satisfied with the outcome of this, removed the beanie from my head and placed it back over his curls. "Face it Sky! I was gonna win somehow! I always do" he rubbed in my defeat.
"Shut up Styles!"
"So... I have a question... Would you go on another date with me? Like to an actual restaurant?" He pleaded with a childish smile.
"How about dine in and a movie at my place?" I said without another thought.
"This is why I like you so much Sky! You understand me!"
"We understand each other... That's why this could work."
Harry's POV
As I drove home to my lonely flat, Sky's words tumbled over and over again through my mind,
"That's why this could work..."
Was she going to give me a chance? Give us a chance?
The thought scared me somewhat and I wasn't one to get scared often.
Did she only like me because of the scars on my wrist or the pain in my heart?
Because it seemed like so much more than that to me.
The thought of gaining her trust was scary, because of how close she kept it to her, careful not to let anyone steal it without approval.
Was I going to win over the girl of my dreams? The possibility was real, but only if my past would stay hidden.
I sat in my small living room, sipping on my tea and studied the book in my lap. The sound of fists against my door sounded, I jumped up to see who the unexpected visitor was.
The figure standing in my doorway caused my hands to sweat and my heart to race. Something that wasn't a usual side effect to an unexpected visitor.
"Hello Harry"
Maybe it wouldn't be as easy as in anticipated to keep my past hidden.
