Harry's POV

The violent breeze whipped through my curly hair as I pushed on with my long walk home, the fact that I owned a car becoming completely lost in my cluster of thoughts.

All I could think about was Sky, and the way she barked at me to get out.

My heart painfully ached to comfort the girl I'd grown rather fond of.

The only chance I had I blew, but when didn't I mess up things?

Everything good I thought ever happened to me I always ruined. In the end it always came back to me. "Hey frat boy, this is our territory. Why don't you take your spoiled ass and ge-"

"Screw off man, I'm just walking home!" I barked at the college boy who'd mistaken me for their rivals due to my attire representing that rival school.

"What was that?" The angered boy spat.

"I said fuck off!"

The boy clenched his fist and quickly striked at my abdomen region.

His reaction was quick, but my body reacted before I could think and I ducked, missing his punch by an inch.

I could feel the spark start within me and although I tried to put it out, it spread and before I knew it that little spark was a wild fire...

The anger was unmanagable and I couldn't stop it, soon the college boy was lying on the concrete with crimson liquid flowing out his nose.

His friends stood, like they were frozen to the ground, staring at me with sheer terror in their eyes.

The look was familiar, as I've seen it many time before.

I turned around and ran...

I'd done something I'd never done before...

My dark side was revealed in public, where anyone could've seen me.

The side of me I usually kept under lock and key was unlocked and I have nothing left to do but run.

My secrets were slowly becoming harder to hide...

Sky's POV

I sat alone in my dark, depressing room, and counted the scuffs on the wall.

The wall was kind of like me, dark and scarred.

I lost track of my counting when my mom roamed right into my room.

"Sky? Can we talk?"

I sat in silence, maintaining my steady gaze.

"I think you should go to counseling..." She suddenly blurted out.

"Mom, go!"

"Sky I'm just trying to help..."

"Well I don't need your help! I never have and I never will! You never offered me help before, but now that I wind up nearly dead you suddenly want to help? Well sorry but that's not the way it works, at least not with me! So take a hint and realize I'm never going to need you!"

When I finished my rant, I was struggling for breath...

I never meant to come off so harsh, but it was too late. My mom fled out of my room, tears streaming down her cheeks.

How much more could I screw up?

I returned to my uncomfortable, curled up position in the corner of my room, where I belonged.

I retrieved my phone and texted Harry, but quickly deleted the message, as realization hit that he was gone.

I'd once again managed to push someone away...but this time was different... I felt like I hadn't pushed him far enough away.

What if Harry does understand me?

What if he really is one of me?

Maybe I needed this broken, hurt boy to fix me so I could fix him...

••••••

My hair covered my face as the wind continually pressed it against me.

I checked the slip of paper I held in my hand, reasurring I'd come to the right address...

My hand slowly removed itself from my side and my fist softly hit against the door.

The door opened, revealing the curly haired boy...

"Sky? What-what are you doing here?" Harry whispered, while wiping away the sleep from his eyes.

"Harry? Have you ever been on a boat?"

"Um yeah?"

Confusion settled in his tone as I stood on his doorstep at 1 in the morning asking about a boat ride.

"A boat has to be anchored to stay safe right? And not float away..."

"Yeah?"

"Your my anchor Harry... I need you to keep me anchored and not let me float away again..."

Harry's POV

I was speechless, but I managed to snap back and realize my front door was still open and Sky was standing outside freezing.

My arm reached out and gently pulled her in, her cheeks tinted red from the blistering wind.

"Sky I think your wrong... You're my anchor..."

"We're each others anchor" she weakly smiled.

"But Sky an anchor sinks..."

"It's ok Harry, at the bottom lies all the other anchors, broken and defeated. Left to sink slowly to rock bottom... Like us... And now that we've met each other we can balance each other, so we don't sink too much.."

By now I was physically closer to Sky than ever before.

Every breath she took reflecting off me and I was thankful for that because I know she's ok and with her here now, I'll be ok too.

My gaze was focused on the blue of her eyes, her chestnut hair lay softly on her shoulder with stray strands lying on her forehead.

Even in jeans, converse and a jacket she looked like the most beautiful girl in the world.

I slowly moved closer and grabbed her hand, entwining my fingers with hers, "I'll never let you sink Sky... I promise."

"A promise is a big commitment Harry"

"No commitment is too big if you love it enough..."
