Harry's POV
I stayed with Sky the remainder of the day to ensure that she was ok.
She softly rested her head on my chest and gently placed her hand on my torso. The wetness of her tears could be felt through the material of my shirt. She hadn't completely stopped crying, but I didn't mind. She needed to be weak for once and not feel like the weight of the world was hers to bear.
"Harry? Why are you still here?"
"Because, I promised I'd be your anchor. I'm not going to break that promise."
"No one's ever told me that..."
"I mean it Sky. I hate it when people break a promise, and I'm not going to be that person."
"It's ok, you know, if you ever leave... I'm so broken I don't know if I'm fixable" she smiled weakly.
"Maybe you're missing a piece, like a puzzle?"
Sky looked up at me with her red, damp eyes then...
She smiled...
Something she rarely did...
I gently rubbed her back as she whispered something to me,
"It's quite possible you're that piece Harry..."
It wasn't some cruel joke. She was serious. And my heart couldn't have smiled wider.
"You should smile more often Sky. Because when you smile, then I can smile"
"Why's that?"
"Because that means your happy, and when your happy then I know I've done my job right"
Sky's POV
The day rolled on and Harry had to return home, but I could tell he didn't want to leave me. Or maybe it was all in my head. Maybe in fact he couldn't wait to leave my presence.
"Harry, I'll be ok..."
"I can come back later if you'd like?" His face full of concern and worry.
"It's ok, stay home and relax" I lightened the tension with a pathetic smile.
"Ok, but if you need me-"
"Don't worry, I'll call" I assured the worried boy. His face lightened a bit but not enough to satisfy be.
That's when Harry flashed me an adorable smile and continued his voyage out my window. Then I knew that he'd be ok and so would I.
"Now don't go killing yourself Sky Jones"
"You diminished any thought I would've had about that Mr. Styles" I smiled at him "but if I can't kill myself that means you can't fall out of this tree and plummet to your horrid death"
He laughed and vanished from my sight.
I closed the window behind him, but left it unlocked, knowing the only entry would be from Harry.
Or some murderer that's responsible for the drop in our towns population, but life's too short to worry about that.
My mom had already left for work, so I settled in the living room to watch another movie.
Harry hasn't been gone but 5 minutes and I already miss his warm touch.
Every time the warmth of his touch met mine, I felt safe... Something I had honestly never felt before. The feeling was foreign but it felt so amazing that I wanted it more.
Was he the missing piece to my puzzle?
I'd never felt "ok" about myself until he came along.
He could've left me, alone, when I tried to push him away, but he stayed...
The thought still puzzled me.
My phone illuminated, signaling a new text.
"Harry: Stay strong Sky xx."
It was the little things like that that kept me going, that gave me hope that maybe, just maybe, someone does actually care about me.
And maybe just maybe... That someone is Harry Styles
Harry's POV
I drove the route I drove everyday to get home, and when I was sure I wasn't being followed... I made the turn down the dim lit alley way. It was a detour from my normal way tonight but a detour that would hopefully lead me in the right direction.
My car squeezed through the tiny space, nearly scraping the paint off my car. If a single chip wouldn't fallen off I would've killed over. For some reason males have a strong attachment to their motor vehicles and I and ashamed to admit. I am one of those males.
My car headlights lit up a silhouette of the expected figure standing at the end of the alley.
His identity remained hidden by the dark mask he wore. Although I didn't know who he was exactly, I knew he was meant for me.
I checked my surroundings to make sure no unwanted audience had formed. Sure enough we remained the only two in sight.
"Do you have it?" I asked urgently, wanting to leave before we were discovered.
He handed me the slip of paper and quickly disappeared behind the shadows.
The paper had the information I needed on it.
"2 Days Harry" the man whispered. His voice deep and smelling of cigarette smoke.
I folded up the piece of paper and concealed it in my pocket...
This was what I'd been waiting for.
