198: Watch

AU: Everyone has an unbreakable watch which counts down to the very second they meet their soulmate
Them and their soul mate's watch will fall then disappear at exactly the same time

AU! Taro Yamada x Ayano Aishi:

Ayano looked at the watch on her wrist with a small smile. It was counting down by the minute. She would meet her soulmate soon, and she couldn't wait. She had never felt love before, but she would soon enough. She smiled as she began to count it down.
"5... 4... 3... 2... oh!" She felt her body crash into someone else. She looked up, and felt her wristwatch slip off. The boy she was looking at had dark hair and grey eyes. He must be her soul mate.
"I'm sorry." He apologised as he held his hand out to her. She took it gladly, allowing herself to be helped up. She blushed as she reluctantly let his hand go. "I don't think I've seen you around before. My name's Taro Yamada. What's yours?"
"Ayano Aishi." She said to him, smiling a tiny bit. She was a little dreamy, imaging a future with the boy she'd just met. He nodded his head, beginning to turn around.
"Would you like to walk with me?" He asked. She nodded her head, trying not to come across as overly excited. He smiled at her as they both headed to school.

Ayano couldn't get him out of her head. At all. He was all she could think of, but she didn't mind. He was her soulmate, they were destined to be together. She smiled at the thought of being with him. She planned her love confession to him, planning to confess under the cherry blossom tree on Friday. That way, she could almost guarantee he would accept. He would anyway, considering they were meant to be together, right?

She waited for him to meet her that Friday. In her hand was her confession note. She looked at her bare wrist where the watch had once been with a small smile. She was about to confess to her soulmate, and she was both nervous and excited. He ran over to the tree, surprised to see Ayano.
"Here. Please read this." Ayano said as soon as he reached her, holding out the envelope to him. He took it and read it silently to himself. Ayano couldn't read his expression, which freaked her out a little. Once he was done reading the letter, he put it in his pocket and took hold of her hands.
"I accept your confession."

One day, Taro and Ayano were walking to school together when Ayano noticed something. Something that made her heart stop for a second. She was in disbelief. She wanted to burst into tears, to let go of his hand and run even though she believed they were supposed to be together.

She'd looked down, and Taro's watch hadn't fallen off.
