Midori Gurin & Oka Ruto:
Just because you think you're free, doesn't mean you actually are. Midori and Oka thought they were free from their bullies comments forever, but they were wrong. Especially Oka. Even though the worst of her tormentors had gone into prison for trying to kill her, their words tortured her mind. It scared her. She had asked Genka for counselling sessions for help, but so far hadn't heard back about that. She had started believing she didn't deserve the help. She didn't feel like she could tell Midori about it either, she wouldn't understand and would probably ask millions of questions she couldn't answer. She was alone on an island with the tide slowly coming in to drown her.
Darkness filled the occult club, with the only light coming from a black candle placed in front of the club leader. She had cancelled club activities for the day, and was now all alone. She was convinced nobody wanted her around anyway. Not in the club, not in the school, nowhere. She could feel herself struggling to breathe, struggling to stay afloat while everything pulled her down. She couldn't do it anymore. She quietly sang Tsubasa Wo Kudasai to herself as she picked up the occult club knife. The spotless blade glimmered slightly in the light of the candle. She always made sure to clean it after every use, which was very infrequent as it was. She was going to use it to take her own life. Everyone would be happy then, right? Nobody would have to worry about her, nobody would have to be sad when she was around. She'd be free, and they'd be free of her. Just as it should be.
Midori was humming to herself, walking to visit Oka in her club room before activities started. She was unaware that Oka had cancelled activities tonight, and was planning on taking her own life.
"Oka-chan!" Midori said loudly as she entered the room. Her happy attitude dropped instantly when Oka turned to look at her. She was still holding the occult knife, only now it was stabbed into her stomach. Oka has a sad smile, wishing Midori didn't have to see her like this. "Oka-chan!" Midori shouted in shock as Oka pulled the knife out of her stomach. She knew that would cause her to bleed out faster, ending her life sooner.
"N-now everyone can be happy." She mumbled, crashing to the floor. She wasn't particularly strong or big, so the blood loss took affect pretty quickly. Midori screamed loudly, grabbing the attention of Kizana and the drama club next door.
"What is all the shouting abo- OH MY GOD!" Kizana was about to enter the room and have a go at Midori for shouting and interrupting her rehearsal when she saw Oka lying on the floor bleeding heavily from the stab would. She grabbed the wall dramatically, almost like she was about to faint from the shock. "Someone go call an ambulance! It's urgent!" Kizana ordered her club members, not looking at Oka because the blood made her want to heave. Midori was silent in absolute shock. The last words Oka said to her were ringing through her head. 'Now everyone can be happy'. Midori wouldn't be happy. Not when her best friend was committing suicide in front of her and she hadn't been able to stop her. All she could do was stare as the life slipped away from Oka's now unconscious body.Midori refused to leave Oka's side in the hospital. She had been saved just in time, and was now recovering from the anaesthetic she had been put under when the doctors had stitched the self inflicted stab wound shut. She was starting to realise the detrimental effect the bullying had on Oka, and how little the short period of bullying had affected her. She just wished she had seen Oka drowning in her own ill mental health before her life was almost taken too soon.
