258: Father Who Loves Me

Info-chan & Frank (springbonnie_crush ):

"Info-chan? You there?" Cupa asked, knocking on the door of the info club. She and Info-chan has arranged to meet and walk home together like usual. When she didn't answer, Cupa started to panic. "Info-chan?" She kept knocking on the door. While she did know Info-chan's real name, she always used her alias in school. She found the spare key Info-chan had given her, unlocking and opening the door. She rushed in and went straight to her, gasping in shock. She was sat in her chair in a state of unconsciousness. Her bottle of antidepressants was empty on her desk when it had been half full this morning. Cupa realised quickly that Info-chan had deliberately overdosed herself. She'd been suicidal for a while, but Cupa never thought she'd actually try and take her life. She put her on her back before leaving the school, calling for an ambulance. She had to get Info-chan to a hospital for a chance at survival.

Frank poked his head in to Info-chan's room, frowning slightly when she saw she was alone. She'd been admitted after her overdose, and Cupa had to leave her alone as she was going away for an important dance competition. He felt kinda bad for her being all on her own after attempting suicide, and decided to take a break from his work as a doctor to talk to her. He knocked on the door, trying to get her attention. She was sat by the window, just watching the rain outside. She glanced back as she heard a knocking, seeing the friendly doctor.
"Is it time for my medication yet?" She asked plainly. That was the only reason doctors came into her room. That, or to give her a meal that she wouldn't eat because of how gross they were. Frank shook his head, coming further in and closing the door behind him.
"I just came to talk to you since you seemed lonely. You don't mind, do you?" He said to her. She nodded and turned around to face him properly. He sat down on the chair placed beside her bed, smiling softly at her to prove to her that she could trust him.

After a few hours, they'd built a decent bond. She'd kept her 'career' and her alias secret from him, knowing fully well what she did was illegal. He didn't ask, just assuming she was a normal high school student. Something was troubling him, however. She never mentioned any family she had, even though he'd tried to make that a topic of conversation between them.
"Can I ask about where your family are?" He asked. Info-chan went silent, looking out of the open window. Her family was a touchy subject for her, but she felt comfortable enough with Frank to tell him the truth about her parents.
"My mum passed away when I was born, and my dad doesn't care about me. He's always drinking away his sorrows, leaving me to raise myself." She told him, sighing and looking out of the window. Frank immediately felt bad for this poor girl. She'd clearly been dealt a bad hand in life, but he didn't know she'd rigged the deck to make it work for her.
"I'll be a father figure to you if you want me to." He suggested. He was more than ready to step up and be a father to this girl that he had come to care about over the past few hours. She giggled shyly, nodding her head. She'd always wanted a good parental figure in her life, and now she had a chance at having one. Even if it wasn't forever, it would be so nice.
"Okay. Thank you." She said. He got up and gave her a gentle hug. She hesitated before hugging back. She wasn't used to anyone other than Cupa giving her hugs, but she liked it a lot. Maybe this could work out after all.
