MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Budo Masuta x Info-chan
"All the Christmas decorations are up, only one thing left to hang." Info-chan said with a smile, sitting down on her chair. She'd decided this year to decorate the info club room for the holidays, and her boyfriend Budo was helping her as best he could. Budo rolled his eyes playfully, having already fully accepted her nihilistic jokes.
"Yeah, the stockings." He said in a joking matter too. She smiled at him, blushing lightly. They both knew she didn't mean the stockings, but it made them both laugh a little. "We should get going. It's getting late, and it looks like everyone has already left." Budo said to her, looking at her monitors. She nodded, starting to shut everything down. He tried to help, but knew she was meticulous about this. After fifteen minutes, she was ready to finally leave. She grabbed hold of his hand, walking out of her room with him. After locking the door, they left the school together into the cold winter evening."Do you feel that?" Info-chan asked, stopping suddenly and looking around. A chill ran down her spine, and not because of the cold. "Someone's watching." She said in a more hushed voice, still looking around. Budo frowned, looking around too. Neither of them could see anyone else, though. It was just the two of them in that empty park.
"Watching? Babe, there's nobody else around." He told her, placing his hand on her shoulder. She flinched when he did, looking up at him with a frown.
"You sure?" She asked timidly. She could feel someone watching her, someone who wanted to hurt her. Budo nodded and held her close. He knew she wasn't well mentally, and didn't want to make it any worse for her by not believing her.
"I'm sure. Let's keep walking, and I'll stay with you so nothing bad happens." Budo reassured her kindly, gently letting her go but keeping hold of her hand. She nodded, staying close to him as they kept walking home. She sighed, sitting in her bedroom later that evening. Budo was in the bathroom, leaving her alone. She opened the bag full of her medication for her mental issues, noticing most of the bottles were empty. She'd meant to get her prescription from her doctor, but it had completely slipped her mind. She sighed and took what she did have that she was supposed to, putting the rest away. She'd convinced herself she would be fine missing her meds this evening and in the morning. She closed the bag and set it under her bed, sighing. She was almost ashamed of her mental health issues, and didn't want anyone to know. Budo didn't even know the true extent of her problems. She was a Disneyland of mental health issues.
"You okay?" Budo asked, looking at her with a soft smile. He came further into her bedroom, sitting on the bed next to her. She nodded, smiling at him.
"Yep. Never better." She lied, knowing she was a very good liar. She always had been. He laid back, gently pulling her back with him so they were laying side by side. She wrapped her arms around him, holding on to him like a teddy bear. After a week, there definitely was a change in her. A big change. She was always looking over her shoulder, seeming almost paranoid. She also appeared to be hearing things. She was refusing to eat anything Budo brought for her, and she was hurting herself more and more. He was really concerned. Not just for her mental health, but for her home environment potentially making it worse.
Her father was a drunk, or rather, one of two drunks. He was either chilled and absent, not even knowing he had a daughter to care for, or he was abusive. She could easily handle the absent drunk, and she had done from a very early age, but she could barely take the abuse. His abuse danced on the fine line between abuse and torture, which Budo believed was the main cause for her mental health issues.
"Mari! Where are you?" She heard her father snap as she opened the door, going tense. She could tell just by his voice he was in a violent mood, and that because she was the only person who was around she'd be the one to receive his anger. "Get in here, you little brat!" He shouted from the living room. She closed the door, staying there. Part of her wished she could run, but she felt trapped. She couldn't run. She slowly walked into the living room in an almost robotic manor, one hand clinging so hard to her wrist that she'd certainly leave a red mark. The drunk man wasted no time, grabbing her by her hair and repeatedly slamming her head into the wall. She let it happen, knowing fighting only made it worse. He threw her on to the sofa, grabbing a pillow and starting to smother her. She knew he wouldn't kill her, if he was going to he would've done it already, but she was still terrified. He eventually stopped, grabbing a discarded beer bottle and smashing it on her back. She whimpered, her hand going over to her mouth to try and quieten the sound as she was repeatedly cut with the broken bottle. She was already crying. "Go up to your room, and if you come back down here I'm gonna beat you again." He told her, getting off her. She didn't hesitate to get up and run upstairs.
Within half an hour, there was a faint tapping on her window. She looked over, seeing Budo. She'd texted him as soon as she was alone in her room, telling him what had happened with her dad and that she needed comfort, and he'd come straight away. She opened the window and helped him in, refusing to let him go.
"You're okay. I've got you now." He said quietly to her, holding her. She insisted he was quiet, scared her father would find out and hurt her even worse. She just wanted his comfort and care right now. He picked her up carefully and laid on her back with her on top of him. He noticed her body would occasionally twitch, but he just assumed it was nothing. She'd run completely out of her medications now, and she had yet to get her prescription.Christmas Eve approached, and by the time it arrived Info-chan was broken mentally. All she could really think about was killing herself or hurting herself/someone else. The worst part was that she was convinced someone was watching her every movement. Even now, isolated in her info club room in her closed school, someone was watching her. Waiting for her to be vulnerable. She couldn't do this anymore. She sent one final text message to Budo, her hands trembling as she typed. She was struggling to see her message through her own tears. She hit send, suddenly hearing the smashing of glass.
Budo was in bed, trying to fall asleep. He was looking forward to Christmas, especially since this year his girlfriend was supposed to be coming over to spend Christmas with him and his family. When a message flashed up on his phone, he simply assumed it was a good night message from her. He picked up his phone anyway, just to respond with his own good night and sweet dreams message, but the message he actually got caused his heart to drop. 'I'm scared. Someone is watching me, waiting to hurt me. I'm in the info club room at school. Hurry please! I love you xxx'. Budo jumped up and slipped on a pair of shoes. He had to get to her now, before it was too late. Sure, he wondered why she was even there, but that could wait. What mattered was her safety.
When he arrived at the building, he instantly knew something was horribly wrong. He ran to the entrance just as someone in all black with a white mask covering their face ran out. From their figure alone Budo could tell this person was a female. She ran close to him, stabbing him with an already bloody knife before sprinting off. Budo would've chased her, but he was far more worried about Info-chan.
"Mari?" He shouted her name, running into the building and up the stairs. He was bleeding out, but he was strong. He had to get to her to make sure she was okay. He'd never be able to live with himself if she died because he couldn't get to her.Reaching the info club room, he noticed the window looking into the room that was usually covered by curtains smashed. The curtains were wide open too. He ran over to the window and looked inside, seeing something he wished he hadn't. She was dead, hanging from the ceiling from a noose made with brightly coloured tinsel. Her body was covered in multiple stab wounds and bruises. There was no way her death had been suicide.
"Mari... I'm sorry..." his voice was soft, his spirit entirely shattered like the window he was looking through. He climbed through, his hands and knees being cut with the broken glass. He gently pulled her body down, sitting down on her chair with her lifeless corpse on his lap. He was crying, still bleeding out from the stab wound he'd received. He had just given up on life, taking a bottle of sleeping tablets she'd left on her desk that she'd planned to overdose herself with and downing the lot. He kissed her cold cheek gently. "Merry Christmas." He whispered weakly into her ear, closing his eyes and drifting off into an eternal sleep just as the clock struck midnight and Christmas Day arrived.
