228: Mistaken Confession

Budo Masuta x Kokona Haruka:

Kokona had a small smile on her face as she held the note in her hand. Today was Friday, and she was planning to confess her feelings to Taro. She had written a note asking him to meet her under the cherry blossom tree at the end of the school day. She was nervous and excited for her confession. She slipped the note into the locker and ran away. Little did she know she had put the note into the wrong locker...

Kokona waited by the cherry blossom tree at the end of that school day for Taro to arrive. She was really nervous for her confession. She looked over to the school, and saw a dark haired male running towards her, but something told her it wasn't Taro. He had a white headband around his head, and was wearing a martial arts gi. She realised it was Budo. Maybe some other girl planned to confess, but had bottled it at the last minute. Whatever it was, it didn't ease her nerves. Budo ran over to her with a wide smile.
"Ah, Kokona. You left me this note?" He asked, pulling out the note she had written and handed it to her. It was unmistakably her note that had meant to be given to Taro. She blushed a little with embarrassment, realising her mistake. She wasn't all too sure what she should do. She didn't want to seem rude to Budo, but she didn't know if she had feelings for him. She could always break up with him if it didn't work out between them, or if she didn't develop any true feelings for him.
"Yeah... I just wanted to say that I have a crush on you... and I think you're adorable..." she said to him, masking the awkwardness she felt. She'd had a crush on him when she was a first year at Akademi, but it seemed to have faded.
"Oh, ok. I think you're really cute too Kokona." He said. She was surprised to feel her heart beating a little faster, like she had feelings for him. Maybe her past feelings were resurfacing. "I would like you to be my girlfriend, only if you want to of course." He said the second part a little quicker than he would've liked. She giggled a little, covering her mouth with her hand.
"Ok then, I'll be your girlfriend." She told him. He smiled and held her hand, surprising her with a kiss on the cheek. She blushed a little as he kissed her. She still held his hand as they headed away from the tree.

It didn't take long for Kokona to realise her feelings for Budo had never really disappeared. If anything, they'd started growing stronger. He also felt the same way. He had developed strong feelings for Kokona, and loved her very dearly. They never split up, and lived long happy lives together. She never once thought of Taro throughout the relationship. She realised that her accidental confession was the best thing that ever happened to her.
