Chapter 37: Complicated Love- Dealing with a Bitch is Harder Than It Looks
*Zayn's POV*
I slowly took Hales's tiny fists off my shirt and silently went out the door. If I was going to keep her safe, I needed to defeat Jennifer. And I knew exactly how. Scurrying to my car, I jumped in and sped to her house.
After a half hour drive, I finally arrived and ran up her driveway. Knocking, I calmed myself down and waited for her to answer. As soon as she did, a huge smile spread across her face; a devilish smile. "Ahhh Zayn I see Haley followed directions" she smirked, leaning in for a kiss. "No and you can't kiss me" I snapped, pushing her away before she could reach my lips. No matter how bad this situation got, I'd never cheat on Haley. I love her too much. "Why? I thought she broke up with you" she asked in confusion with a side of anger. "She didn't and I don't plan to cheat on her. Ever" I replied in a dark tone. "Why didn't she break with you? She agreed to!" Jennifer hissed. "She's too smart to do that" I shot back. "Then why the hell are you here?" she questioned, narrowing her eyes at me. "To get you to stop. Why are you doing this to her?" I inquired. "Because you were mine first and now you have a child with her! It's not fair!" she howled.
She, to my surprise, started crying. "Look" I started, softening. "I am sorry that it hurts you but I can't apologize for falling in love. It happened and I won't change that. I know it really hurts but what you did was uncalled for" I explained. "I know. It just got out of hand. I'm really sorry for doing it" she apologized. "It's okay. Try and find someone! I know you can" I encouraged with a smile. "Thanks Zayn" she giggled a little, hugging me. "You're welcome. Now do you promise to leave Haley alone?" I asked in a serious tone. "Yes. Can I go with you and...."
