Chapter 54: Complicated Love- Marry Me?
*Haley's POV*
~3 months later~
Cancer takes many people, including my own grandmother, but some conquer it and show cancer who's superior. Luckily, I was one of the those people. That's right; I beat cancer! However, that didn't stop the putrid disease from taking some of my hair. Unfortunately, my hair is down to the end of my neck which means I lost 9 inches of hair. But the most important thing is that I'm perfectly healthy. So is our baby boy which we've named Connor. He's just now learning to crawl and I love him so much. I'm really proud of him. I guess you could say my life is going pretty well right now. There's just one downside but when isn't something going wrong in my life? Zayn has been really distant lately. He's rarely home anymore and our conversations, if you can even call them that, are always short. It's really worrying because I feel like I'm losing him, that he doesn't love me anymore. I don't want to lose him or raise Connor alone. I want to talk to the boys but I'm too afraid that my fears will turn into terribly truthful nightmares. But since I'm tired of fear ruling my life, I decided to go talk to them. Since Zayn wasn't home, -shocker- I invited them over. When they arrived, I immediately bombarded them with questions. "Haley, first of all, calm down" Liam laughs. I nod and take some deep breaths. "Second, we don't know why. We only see him in the studio. But we can assure you that he definitely still loves you. He talks about you a lot" he continues. This gives me great relief, but I still wanna know why he's practically avoiding me. "That's good. Will you please ask him though if you can?" I ask. "Of course love" he nods. "Thanks you guys" I smile, hugging each of them. "Anything" they reply happily. They leave shortly after.
*3 hours later*
I'm about to fall asleep on the couch when I hear the front door being opened. "Who's there?" I ask groggily. "It's me love" Zayn answers, laughing lightly. "Oh. Hey babe" I smile, giving him a kiss. "Hey can we talk upstairs?" he asks, making me fill with worry. "Sure" I nod, following him upstairs. When I walk in, lit candles and rose petals decorate the room. I gasp as I turn around to see Zayn on one knee, holding a velvet box with a beautiful diamond ring placed comfortably in its slot. "Ever since I laid eyes on you, I knew you were my one and only. You made me feel things I've never experienced before and you're the best thing that I've been blessed with. And if you let me, I'd love to spend the rest of my life trying to make you as happy as you make me. Will you marry me?" he asks.
