Time Heals Everything

Chapter 7

I woke up the next morning with a note on Jacobs pillow.
Goodmorning babe,
Went out for a jog. Be back soon. Rae is still sleeping.

That man I swear I thought to myself and went to wake Rae up. To no surprise she was already up and smiling as I picked her up. I went down stairs and made coffee as she played with my hair and giggled. I got her a bottle of milk and so mashed bananas and went to the patio.
"Goodmorning neighbor!" I heard behind me as I rolled my eyes and looked at her
"Hi." I said and waved back
The next thing I know is she was walking around and walked through our small gate and sat next to me at the table.
"Well shes adorable. Whats her name?" She asked as Rae pulled my hair
"Raelynn." I fake smiled as I got her to let go
"Thats a cute name. Where is your husband?" She asked still trying to get into our business
"He went for a jog. Our crossfit gym opens tomorrow and he wanted to go see it before hand." I said trying to get Rae to eat now
"Wow. I love crossfit. So does my husband." She said smiling
"Come check it out. Its Hermosa Beach crossfit. Its down the road." I said seeing Jacob shirtless walking into the patio
"Hey babe. Hey princess." He said out of breath kissing our foreheads
"I better get going. Its Monday and I need to get my little one to school. Hopefully I see you later." Taylor said checking out Jacob before she left
"That was weird." I said looking up at him
"Have you eaten yet?" He asked eyeing my coffee. I said no and he went right into the kitchen to cook as Rae started to eat her breakfast.
Katy walked out on to her patio and came into ours.  What is it with everyone just walking into other peoples places? I questioned myself.
"Goodmorning." She said sitting down next to me
"I see you have met your other neighbor Taylor." She said laughing as we watched her walk her son to school
"Is she always like that?" I asked
"Worse. We actually live in that house so we have gotten use to her." She said as Rae reached over to her. Nate walked over and went right into the kitchen to help with breakfast
"So we are eating all together?" I asked with a small laugh
"I mean we did get a change in our profile. Nate and Jacob are brothers now." She said passing me a folder
"So we are now sister in laws." I laughed at that thought and she nodded yes
"Well it will make it an easier story." Jacob said sitting down next to me
"And we do look alike. And it wont be that hard to pull off when Katy is always with Britt." He said putting plates out
"When will this be over." I whined leaning my head back

I went shopping with Katy and Rae as Nate and Jacob worked out the final kinks with the gym.
"So is Taylor always that into other peoples lives?" I asked driving back home
"Yes. She is. She owns a popular Esty page and her husband is a hockey player on the LA Kings. Shes just a bored house wife." She laughed looking at her phone
"So do we like live a normal life?" I asked still not getting the whole protective life style.
"Yeah. Join a yoga studio, sit at the beach all day, do things that are normal for you." She laughed at my innocence
"We can even take Rae it you want to have mommy and daddy time. Jax said he would go when its a whole family outing." She said making it obvious that it would be weird for her to do everything with me
"I hate this. I dont even have my gun." I huffed
"I will get you one. We go into the LA office on Wednesday for the weekly meeting and to set you up for profiling classes." She said as we pulled into the garage
"Are you hungry?" I asked looking back at Rae and seeing she was asleep

I made lunch for Katy and I and it was interrupted by a call on a burner phone I was given
"Hello?" I answered unsure who it was
"Britt. We miss you three so much already!" JJ said almost screaming into the phone.
"We miss you too. Its really hard being here and not working on the case." I said disappointed I was working
"Its fine. I think we are going to send you files so you can do profiles on them and keep your mind active." She said wanting this conversation to end
"Alright. Thank you. Is everyone coming out next weekend or just you and dad?" I asked unsure of the boys were tagging along
"Just us. I got to go. We got a case. I love you." She said getting interrupted.
"I love you too." I said be fore hanging up
"It gets easier." Katy said standing in the door way with Rae wide awake in her arms.

Wednesday came and I was sitting in a conference room taking in everything I heard. Jacob left and took Rae with him.
"We are sorry Britt. We have not heard any progress from Quantico. You and your family are still not safe. It might be a couple of months but hopefully not a year." Jax said as tears slipped down my face
The words he said kept repeating in my mind. No news that could help me get back to my life.
