Chapter 15

Britts POV
"We need you babe." Was all I could hear from Jacob. Every hour or so it felt like someone new would come be with me and talk to me. I laid there and listened. I listened to heart breaking stories and soon enough they consumed my thoughts. At times I was happily with Rae watching her grow up, other stories changed my dreams to be dark and depressing. I dont wan to be in this state anymore. A faceless voice kept coming in and I figured it was the doctor.
"All of Brittneys vitals and test are showing improvement. We are going to slowly take her off the sedative and see if she will wake up. Shes been under for a long time it could be a few hours to days before she wakes up." He doctor said as a few sigh of reliefs happened
I think it was only mine and Jacobs parents left. The team had to leave, work shouldnt stop for me. A weird tingling sensation started to happen in my hands. Maybe the stuff is wearing off. Slowly everything else tingled and became awake, but me.
A couple more hours it felt like went by and Jacob was in the room. He was baby talking to Rae and it was the cutest thing ever.
"Mommys going to wake up soon and when shes all better we are going to go back home to Hermosa." He said as she giggled
"Im going to make your mommy take time off to relax so she can get even stronger than she already is." He said as she squealed with excitement
"Mommy get better?" She asked completely throwing me off at her little voice. The last time I heard her she could only make a few words make sense.
"Yes. Mommy get better." He said as I felt a small hand touch my face
"Maybe for Christmas she will wake up." He said completely taking me by surprise.
Christmas? I got shot and it was the end of September. Ive missed two and a half months. I missed her first birthday. I wanted to wake up, I wanted to move and to see her. Thats why she can formulate sentences better. Shes a year and two months old. The anger started building in and and my right hand moved.
"Rae did you move mommys hand?" He asked and she gave no answer
"Lets go see GiGi and NaNa ok?" He asked as the room felt empty
"Britt and you starting to wake up?" He asked sitting in my left side playing with my ring finger
I moved it again to give him and answer and it moved
"Can you hear me?" He asked
How do I communicate with him?
I moved my hand again and I felt him kiss my forehead.
"Are you waking up hunny?" He asked again
I figured it out and gave him a thumbs up.
"I take that as a yes." He said sounding like he wanted to cry
"Do you want everyone else in here?" He asked
I thought for a bit and gave him a thumbs down.
"Do you just want me?" He asked and immediately I did a thumbs up
"Ok." He said holding my hand
"Just take your time. I will be here the entire time." He said as I could move my legs and both arms
Finally I got control of my face and could open my eyes. Jacob was asleep with his head on the bed. I groaned waking him up.
"Britt." He said as his eyes filled up with tears.
He looked different. He had bags under his eyes and he had more scruff than I am use to.
I nodded as tears fell out of my eyes.
"I need to get the doctor ok." He said standing up and running out
The doctor came in and checked everything over again told me I was good and to take it slow.
I groaned and looked at Jacob. Who kissed my hand. I noticed his dog tags and went and reached over to them. He pulled them from under his shirt reviling then and my wedding rings.
"I had to take them off. I put them on here so I wouldnt lose them and so they would be close to my heart." He said taking my hand again
"Knock knock." JJs tired voice came from the door
"Oh my god." She said almost falling down as tears escaped her eyes and her hands went over her mouth
"How long?" She asked after getting herself under control
"About twenty minutes." Jacob answered for me
"Do you feel alright? Do you need anything?" She asked as I nodded yes
"What do you need?" She asked
"Water." I finally spoke

Sorry this book has been very boring so far. Im trying to speed it up a little bit to get to more fun and have some action. Eventually it will be. Thanks for reading 😊
