Time Heals Everything

Chapter 21

"Ok Britt. You can talk now." She said after we sat in silence for ten minutes
"I dont know where to." I said still looking at my hands
"Go from the beginning." She said grabbing on to one of my hands making me stop fidgeting
"Ok. Lexi was my mentor from the soccer team. She was a year before me in school and already played one season. She was somehow also my next door neighbor in the dorms. One night she came over and we were hanging out and she got a text from one of the soccer guys saying there was a party at his Frat house. I didnt want to go in risk of my soccer scholarship. She and Maddy talked me into going. The party was going great. I didnt drink the whole night just so I could experience it all. I put my water bottle down for one minute...." I started but broke down
"Have you told anyone?" She asked as I shook my head no
"We were taking a picture together and I didnt want it in the picture. I picked it back up and drank it. I was drugged and didnt remember anything. I was back in my dorm the next morning. I asked Lexi what happened and she said I met a guy and we hit it off right away. Something felt off about the whole situation but I brushed it off. Three weeks later I missed my period and panicked. I told Lexi and she gave me a test as a joke and I took it. It came back positive." I said just wanting to collapse
"So you were raped?" She asked and I shrugged my shoulders
"I cant remember anything. I could have given consent but I dont remember. Lexi thought I was kidding until I showed her the test. She asked what I wanted to do and I said an abortion. I had so much to look forward to and wasnt ready. She sat in the room with me as it happened. A month later I met Jacob and just pushed it away. In Febuary the next year, the Frat was shut down and guys were getting suspended for drugging and rape. Some were even arrested." I said feeling lighter that I told someone
"You need to tell Jacob." She said pulling me into a hug
"Hes going to think less of me now." I said pulling away and standing up
"I know he wont. He has so much love for you." She said still sitting down and watching me pace
"He cant know about it. No on can know about it." I said fighting back tears
"Ok. But I still think you should tell him." She said standing up and in front of me making me stop pacing
"Ive lost three babies. How worthless am I?" I said looking at her
"Two were out of your control. One was acceptable." She said pulling me into a hug as I cried
I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing.
"LaMontange." I said answering
"Its Hotch we need you and JJ back at the station a note was left her for Lexi." He said before hanging up. I woke her up and we both got ready.
"Talk to Jacob when we get home and I will take Rae for the night." She said breaking the silence in the car
"I will." Was all I could say when we parked. We walked in and she ran over to me and gave me a hug
"I know him." She whispered in my ear and I pulled her in to and empty conference room
"How?" I asked
"We met at a coffee shop. He was flirting with me and I said I had a boyfriend and he got upset. He followed me for two weeks until Dan got tired of it and threatened him. His name is Scott or something." She said frantic
"I need to go tell the team." I said walking out
I made her tell the team about what happened.
"Two weeks ago. Thats his trigger when Daniel confronted him." Reid said still rereading the letter
"He says here "she will pay for humiliating me and will realize Im the one she needs." The unsub is in love with her." He said looking at us
"JJ and Lewis do a cognitive interview with her see if she can remember anything else." Hotch said as I felt my phone vibrating in my back pocket. I took it out and saw it was Jacob calling me and I ignored it and out it back. I went to look at the map when it buzzed again and he texted me
911 call me when you can.
I kept re reading it not understanding what it meant
"I will be right back." I said to the team as I went outside
I dialed Jacob and he didnt pick up. I tried again and still nothing. In the middle of the text I was typing for him he called back
"Hey Jacob whats up?" I asked worried
"My grandpa died." He said breaking down into tears
