Chapter 32

Two and a Half Months later

I leaned over the toilet for the second time this morning emptying my stomach.
"You ok babe?" Jacob asked leaning against the doorframe as I brushed my teeth
"Yeah. I think its just the stomach flu or something I ate." I said leaning on him for support as he walked me back to bed
"I think you should go to the doctor. I know you have been throwing up for the past week and a half." He said as I cuddle up closer to him
"Maybe. I have lunch with mom today. I will take Rae with me." I mumbled before falling back asleep
"Shhh mommy is sleeping." I heard from Jacob as he got out of bed
"Mommy said pancakes." She whispered or tried to
"I will make you some. Mommy not feeling good so we have to be nice to her." Jacob said picking up our toddler and carrying her out

A few hours later I woke up to a note on Jacobs pillow informing me he took Rae with him and moved my lunch to one and not noon so I could sleep in. I looked at my phone seeing a missed message from Jacob and Hotch. Like always I ignored Hotchs message and called Jacob.
"Hey." I said standing up feeling even more nauseous.
"How are you feeling?" He asked stepping away from what I assumed was a work out
"Fine." I lied
"Liar." He said making me smile
"Hows Rae?" I asked wishing she was with me
"Good. Shes playing with Nick right now." He said with a slight laugh
My phone vibrated and saw I had a message from JJ saying she was coming over now.
"I have to go. Mom is on her way over. I love you." I said before getting somewhat presentable.

The door bell rang and than was unlocked. I kept my head on the counter in the kitchen as I heard her yelling around looking for me
"In the kitchen." I yelled as she walked in
"What are you doing?" She asked as my head was still down.
"Making tea." I said pointing to the kettle on the stove without looking up
"You need to take this." She said dropping a bag down in front of me
"What is it?" I asked still not looking
"Look for yourself. I will be waiting here for you." She said as I heard her start cleaning up my kitchen from Rae and Jacobs cooking mess this morning
"You dont need to clean." I said before looking in the bag
"You know I do when Im stressed and worried. Now go take them." She said as I opened up the bag finding two boxes of pregnancy test.
"Why did you get me these? I cant even have kids. This is a cruel joke." I said shoving the bag and the test away
"Just humor me and take them." She said giving them back to me and I walked to the bathroom downstairs

"I took them and set the timer." I said annoyed when I walked back into the kitchen.
"When was the last time you and Jacob had sex?" She asked and I shrugged my shoulders knowing it was last night
"Ok when did you start feeling sick?" She asked
"Like a week and a half ago." I answered starting to feel uneasy again
"Did you have sex that day when you fought at his parents house?" She asked as all the alarms in my head started going off
"I missed two periods." I said in a whisper
"So you might be two and a half months pregnant." She said with a I told you so grin
"I cant be. The doctors to me it was impossible and that it would be a miracle if I was to get pregnant again." I said looking at my phone and doing the math again
"The timer should be up now. Go look at the test." She said pushing me back to the bathroom

"Oh shit." I said looking at the four test that I took
"What?" She asked from the outside of the door
"Can you take me to see Dr.Robbins?" I asked opening the door holding four positive test
"I made the appointment at one. Lets got." She said guiding me to the car as I started to internally panic

"Hey Britt. Hows it going?" Dr.Robbins asked coming into the room
"I think Im pregnant." I said looking at JJ for support
"Mother intuition." She said shrugging her shoulders like it was no big deal
"So I take it you want a blood test." She said as I nodded and got my arm ready to draw blood

"Well I have good news Britt. You have a little miracle growing inside you." Dr. Robbins said smiling when she walked in
"Is it healthy? I need to know. I cant have another miscarriage." I said in full blown panic
"Calm down. You are two and a half months in. Lay down do we can check." She said as I followed orders
JJ came closer to me and held my hand as she wiped the tears I didnt know were falling from my eyes.
"Its going to be ok." She said reassuring me as the heart beat filled the room
"Well everything looks...." Dr. Robbins started to say but stopped
"Whats wrong? I heard the heart beat. Something is wrong right. There has to be Im not able to have children anymore. Dr. Robbins." I said now freaking out more
"Shh Britt." JJ said pushing my hair back as Dr.Robbins left the room
"Mom I cant lose another one. You heard the heart beat too." I said as tears streaked both of my eyes
"This is Dr.Kareve. I asked him just to look over the ultrasound too." She said walking in with another doctor
She waved the wand over my flat stomach again as her eyes, the other doctors eyes, and JJs eyes widened
"What is it?" I more demanded than asked
"Congratulations." Dr. Kareve said as he nodded to Dr. Robbins and left
"Well you exceeded all doctors expectations." Dr. Robbins said smiling as I looked at JJ who had tears filling her eyes
"How?" I asked getting more impatient.
"You are having twins." She said pointing out two blobs on the screen
"What?" Was all I was able to get out before I fainted
