Chapter 40

I woke up to an empty bed and a quiet house.
"Jacob?" I called out walking into the hallway
"Mom? Kelly?" I called out again getting no answer
What the hell. I thought to myself as I started going down the stairs
I walk into the kitchen first knowing it should be almost dinner time only to find no one there. I went into the living room to find my family tied up to chairs with duct tape
"What the fuck." I said running right over to Jacob first as his eyes opened wide when I got close to him
"Look what you did." A menacing voice behind me said as a gun clicked
"You." I said turning around seeing Mr.Scratch
"Surprise." He said before pulling the trigger

"Brittney!" Someone yelled as I sat up dripping in sweat
"It was a dream." I said trying to catch my breath
"Obviously." Jacob said pulling me into a hug
"It was bad." I said almost starting to cry
"We are all safe." He said still holding me
"Im hungry." I said into his shirt
"I know you are. Will and my mom are making dinner." He said with a chuckle
"Hows Rae?" I asked pulling away from him to change into less sweaty clothes
"She fine. She has been following Kelly around since she woke up." He said checking me out
"Hey, my eyes are up here." I said putting on a clean pair of leggings and a dry shirt
"But you are so beautiful and I think that glow is coming back like when you had Rae." He said smiling
"Another girl maybe?" I asked turning to the mirror and putting my hands over my stomach
"No defiantly a boy." He said coming up behind me and putting his hands over mine
"Can we eat now?" I asked pouting
"Lets go baby mama." He said smiling

"Mommy!" Rae yelled seeing me walk down the stairs
"Princess." I said picking her up as she cuddled into me
"Whats wrong?" I mouthed to Jacob for her behavior and gave me a look that I should talk to her alone
"BB!" Henry yelled from the kitchen counter when I walked in
"Hey Hen." I said giving him the best attempt at a hug with Rae in my arms
"B!" Micheal yelled running into the kitchen
"Little man." I said patting his back as he hugged my legs
"Shouldnt you be in bed?" Debra asked pulling out something from the oven
"I can still walk." I said as Rae cuddled even closer
"Let me take her while you sit on the couch." Will said walking over to us
"Noooo I want mommy." She screeched while starting to cry
"I have you." I said holding her and bouncing her up and down to calm her
Everyone gave me a look as I walked away to my office to be with her alone.

"Whats wrong baby?" I asked sitting on the couch as she cuddled even more into me
"You hurt." She said through the tears
"No Im not." I said rubbing her back as she cried
"You were bleeding and went to doctor." She said making my heart hurt
"Im fine now baby girl. I promise. I have to stay in bed for a week to feel better again. So I will need lots of cuddles and quiet time with you." I said trying not to scare her
"So your not sick?" She asked pulling away
"No. Im not." I said wiping her tears and snot away with my shirt sleeve
"Can I just be with you?" She asked not wanting to leave me
"Yes you can sweetie." I said hugging her closer to me
"Im hungry. Graddaddy and Nana are making food." She said taking after me
"Lets go see if its done." I said as I stood up and went back to everyone

"We have a hungry little one." I said walking back into the kitchen seeing my happy family
"We need to fix that then." JJ said coming over to me to take her as a shook me head no and gave me a questioning look
"Well you are in luck it is done. Everyone to the table." Debra announced as we gathered around the dining room table

"So Kelly are you going?" JJ asked as we passed around food
"Yes. I want to go." She said confidently
"Good. You make a great addition to our crazy family." Will said laughing
"Manners boys." Debra said looking over at Jacob, Henry and Micheal as they started to play with their food
"We still need to talk to the team." I said dishing up my plate with Rae on my lap
"We can do that later." JJ said putting an end to the conversation

Dinner went by and was loud and crazy just like I like it. JJ and the boys left two hours afterward and Mike and Debra went to bed soon after.
"I think shes about to fall asleep." Kelly said looking at a sleepy Rae as she still was holding on to me
"Ya. Kelly we are going to call next week for you to get into rehab. The place is nice and has helped Jacob." I said playing with Raes hair to help her fall more asleep
"Help Jacob?" She asked confused
"Ya. I had a problem before I met Britt. She helped me get into it and helped me get clean." He said making me proud of him
"I didnt know. How are the babies?" She asked reminding me we never told her
"We lost one." I said trying not to get teary eyed
"Im sorry." She said mournfully
"Its fine. Im going to take her upstairs and get her ready for bed." I said standing up and saying goodnight

I changed Rae into her pjs and put her into her bed.
"No I want to sleep with you." She said half asleep with a puppy dog face
"Ok." I smiled and picked her back up and carried her into my room
"Shes with us tonight?" Jacob asked seeing her cuddled into me asleep
"Ya. She was worried about me today." I said playing with her hair watching her sleep
"We all were." Jacob said getting into bed next to her
"We might need a bigger bed." I laughed
"We can do that." He smiled pulling both of us into him and putting a hand on my invisible bump
"I love you." I said looking into his eyes
"I love all three of you." He said before falling asleep.
