Chapter 18

Six months have passed and Rae is now in full swing of her terrible twos.
"Mommy!" I heard being screamed at the top of her lungs from the play room.
I ran up there to find her holding a barbie head in on hand and the body in another.
Great, my child is going to be a murder. I thought to myself.
"She broken." She said quietly.
"Did you do it?" I asked leaning up against the door frame
"No. Daddy did." She said pointing at a passed out Jacob with marker on his face
I hid my laughter and walked in to pick her up.
"I think its time for a nap." I said walking her out and to her room as she laid her head on my shoulder
I put her down and she looked at me with her bright blue eyes.
"Mommy?" She asked innocently
"Yeah?" I asked back squatting down to her level.
"When will I have a sister or brother?" She asked nearly bringing tears to my eyes
"Well baby, we dont know. Mommy and daddy have to plan for something like that. Dont you like it just being you?" I asked as her eyes started to get heavy
"Henry has Mikey and I have no one." She said closing her eyes as a tear fell from mine.
I walked out closing her door to be wrapped in a tight hug from Jacob and crying into his chest.
"Hey, its alright babe." He said soothingly
"I feel like I failed as a mother and wife." I said in between sobs
"You are the best wife ever and the best mother ever." He said as he guided us to our room
"Jacob the doctor said I cant have anymore kids and if I did it would be a miracle." I said sniffling
"Miracles happen all the time." He said double taking himself in the mirror
"What the hell." He said causing me to laugh
"I think it looks great." I said with a smile
He rolled his eyes and went into the bathroom
"Dont forget you have that meeting tonight." He said walking back out with a washcloth cleaning his face
"I know. I was going to start getting ready soon." I said standing up and walking passed him for the shower.
I got ready and kissed my family goodbye. I got in my car and drove to the BAU.

I parked close to the elevator and took it to the sixth floor. Walking my way passed my desk and into Cruzes office.
"Hey, Britt. What are you doing here?" He asked looking up from his paper work.
"I want to come back." Was all I said as a smile came to his face
"I dod hear a rumor you took the special agent test and profiling test and passed with flying colors." He said standing up and walking around to the front of his desk.
"You heard right." I said  with a slight laugh
"Have you talked to your mom?" He questioned knowing it would be an issue
"She doesnt have a say in what I do. I am twenty three." I laughed
"I just didnt want to get in trouble." He laughed back
"So when can I start?" I asked
"First thing Monday morning." He said smiling and shaking my hand.
A sense of relief washed over me as I pulled into my garage. I was going back to work and back into the field. I was more than happy.

Monday Morning
I walked out of the elevator feeling relaxed as people walked by me in a hurry. I opened up the glass doors and walked right to my desk sitting seeing I had files that need to be profiled.
"Oh my goodness." The voice belonging to Garcia said behind me
I turned around seeing the biggest smile on her face.
"Your back. You are finally back. Hows Rae? Hows Jacob?" She said faster than I could comprehend.
"Everyone is good." I smiled
"Does your mom know your back?" She asked and I nodded no
"Uh oh." She said as her smile dropped
"Im twenty three Garcia. Shes only my mother." I laughed
"Only your mother?" Her voice said behind me
"Surprise." I said with a cheeky smile turning to face her
"Did the doctors clear you? The psychologist? Jacob? Cruz? Hotch?" She asked in a demanding voice.
"Mom its been like eight months. I am fine and have been cleared by everyone." I said as she pulled me into a hug
"Lets go meet the newbie." Garcia said pulling me towards the desk behind JJs
"Newbie this is mini JJ." She said in an uncheerful way
"I know. I met her briefly a while ago." He said smiling
"Cut that smile shes married with a child." She said coldly
"Garcia dont you have something to do?" I asked trying to make this first meeting less awkward
She huffed and walked away.
"Special Agent LaMontange." I said shaking his hand
"Wait Special Agent?" JJ said coming over to us
"Surprise again." I said laughing
"You passed your test?" She asked and I nodded yes
"Whats going on?" A women I never met came up to our group
"Special Agent LaMontange." I said going to shake her hand
"Or Britt for short." I said laughing
"Your JJs daughter right?" She asked
"Uh yeah." I said looking at her
"Dr.Lewis. I came on the team after you were shot." She said before we got interrupted by Hotch telling us to meet at the table
"Well look who it is!" Rossi said kissing me on top of my head and sitting next to me
"Wheres Spencer?" I asked noticing he wasnt at the table
"Hes with his mom. He will be back soon." Hotch said before we got down to business
The case was explained and Hotch stood up saying his usual line and walked out. Once I got to my desk I called Jacob.
"Hey hows your first day back?" He asked
"Good. First case is in Denver." I said getting my things together
"When will you be back?" He asked
"Im not sure. I will keep you updated. Love you." I said as he repeated it and we hung up.
"Ride with me." JJ said as we walked out to her car and went to the airstrip
