Chapter 34

"Lets take it to my office." I said stopping in the foyer
He followed me to my office that has not been touched by tornado Rae.
"What is it Hotch?" I asked after I closed the door on us
"Im going into witness protection." He said taking me into shock
"Why?" I asked
"I dont trust Lewis. I have a feeling he will try to harm Jack and this is the only way I can protect him." He said sitting down in a chair
"Does the team know?" I asked and he nodded no
"You cant tell them or anyone. I have it set up to where I can get away for a few weeks before Im deep enough into protection." He said as I sat on the front of my desk
"Whos taking over?" I asked
"Emily. Shes coming back for help but then will be asked to take over." He said picking up a recent picture of my family
"Shes grown a lot." He said smiling at me
"Ya she a pain and in the terrible twos." I said with a smile
"Congratulations by the way." He said receiving a confused look
"Your glowing." He smirked putting the picture down
"Thanks. Twins this time." I said putting my hand over my still flat stomach
"I really came here to ask you to come back to the team." He said cutting to the real point
"Hotch." I said before he interrupted
"They are going to need your help. I know you did it for your family but the team needs the extra person and the extra brain." He said before I interrupted
"I cant do it. Im expecting two more and it was a miracle that this even happened. Im not risking it or my family anymore. Rae was kiddnapped. I couldnt even protect my own daughter." I said trying to hide emotions
"I know you still look at cases with JJ, I know that there is a gun in that box on the bookshelf, and I know you have thought about coming back a few times. Do what your were born todo." He said standing up and walking to the bookcase and pulling the box out
"I know your code is 2017. The year you became a mom. Your mom uses the same one now." He said doing the code and unlocking my box opening it up revealing my gun
"You need to leave." I said pushing him out of my office and out the front door

He finally left and my eyes burned from tears fighting from escaping.
"Mommy!" Rae yelled running into the living room with a happy meal
"Hi pumpkin. Daddy got you nuggets huh." I said as she nodded excitedly
"The place thought we were feeding an army." Jacob laughed walking in with two bags filled of chinese food
"An army of three for me." I said smiling
"I cant wait." He said setting out all the food on the coffee table
"Cant wait for what?" Rae asked innocently
"For NaNa and PaPa to get here tomorrow." Jacob said picking her up and swinging her around as she laughed like crazy
"Shit. I forgot your parents were coming tomorrow." I said leaning back on the couch with a container of orange chicken and fried rice
"You owe me a dollar." Rae yelled in between laughs
"How about a kiss?" I asked instead
"Fine." She said running over to me to get covered in kisses.

Rae finally fell asleep half way through Moana.
"We need to talk." I said following behind him as he carried Rae to bed
"I know. I saw Hotch pull up when we left." Jacob said as he walked into her room

"I wanna go back." I said right when he walked in
"I know. Ive seen you look at files while you sit at the front desk at the gym." He said sitting next to me
"Should I?" I asked unsure
"If its what you want. I was an ass talking you into quitting." He said looking at me
"I will go back for a temporary time and no field work." I said getting closer to him
"I love you." He said giving me a deep kiss
"And them too." He said putting a hand on my stomach
"Mommy Daddy." Rae yelled running into the room ruining our moment
"Can I sleep with you?" She asked stopping in front of us
"Humm Daddy, what do you think?" I asked him rubbing my chin
"I dont know what do you think Mommy?" He asked copying me
"Please." She pleaded with us
"I guess you can princess." Jacob said picking her up letting her get in between us

The next morning they were both still asleep when I woke up.
I walked to the bathroom and started to get ready for another day of work.
"Good morning beautiful." Jacob said wrapping his arms around me as I made him coffee and myself tea
"Will I see you later?" He asked nuzzling into my neck
"Yes you will." I said pulling away and grabbing my bag and walking out the door
