Time Heals Everything

Chapter 12

JJs POV
No. Was all I could say in my head over and over again. She cant be dead. Shes going to live.
The ride to the hospital was silent. No one wanted to say anything.
"Can I have my phone?" I asked Spencer as he took it out of my jacket sitting on the seat.
My thumb hovered over four names. Jacob, Will, Debra and Jax. Who do I tell first?
"Hey JJ." My sweet southern husband answered not knowing where I was going.
"I need you to take the boys to my moms and fly out to Seattle." I tried my best to say without crying
"Jen, whats going on?" He asked worried
"Please just do what I say. I will tell you when you get here. I love you." I said hanging up
On to the next person.
"Hello." Her voice came almost singing
"Debra its JJ. I need you two to fly out to Seattle." I said, I only wanted them here to watch after Rae. She needed someone to help distract her from Britt
"Ok. Why?" She asked
"I will tell you when you get here." Was all I said before hanging up
"This is Jax." His deep voice answered
"It Agent Jareau. Im about to call Jacob. They will be coming to Seattle. Something happened to Britt. Do not tell him anything. Im telling the family as a whole." I said as he agreed and hung up
Last but not least Jacob
"Hey, JJ. How is everything? We miss you and the family?" Was all I would allow him to say before I started crying
"JJ?" He asked
"I need you to fly into Seattle." I said calming down
"Why? What happened? Wheres Britt?" He started asking frantically
"Jacob. Buy plane tickets now. I need you here." I said before hanging up on his never ending questions

I sat looking out the window as we pulled up to the hospital. Everything happened in a blur. Britts gurney was being pulled out and a paramedic on top doing CPR. I stopped frozen where I was while Rossi tried to talk to me.
"Dont do this again JJ." He said as I just looked at him
"Your family needs you. Britt needs you." He said as I still zombied out
He put his arm around my shoulder and walked me inside and sat me down.

Three hours later the team and I were waiting to be heard from the doctors when Jacob ran into the hospital with Rae in his arms.
"I will take her." Rossi said standing up and taking her from him
"JJ?" Jacob asked standing in front of me and I never looked up. He squatted down looking at me. All I noticed was his hair was getting longer and he shaved his scruff again.
"You shaved." I said looking at him
"Tell me what happened." He said but all I could do was reach over to his face and feel where his scruff once was
"Will shaved when the boys were old enough to grab on to it. Does Rae grab onto your scruff?" I asked still avoiding everything
"JJ look at me. Where is Brittney?" He asked with worried eyes
"Im sorry. I couldnt protect her. It should have been me." I cried before he pulled me into a hug
"Where is she?" He asked when we pulled away
"Surgery." Hotch said knowing I couldnt say it
"Why?" He said looking at me "Damnit JJ. Why is my wife in surgery?" He said getting angry
"She, she was shot twice." I said completely losing it 
"No. No." He said sitting down on the floor and grabbing my hands as he started to cry
He moved up next to me and we sat there for an hour before Will and his parents showed up
"What happened?" Will said as they approached us
"Hotch can you tell them?" I asked looking at him and he nodded
"Britt was shot twice. One in her abdomen and one in her shoulder. Shes been in surgery for four hours and we havent had any word from the doctors." He said as Will looked at me and pulled me into a hug and starting crying
"Wheres Rae?" Debra asked noticing Jacob was baby free
"Shes with an agent. JJ called so she would have family with them and for Rae." Derek said out of no where

Rossi came back in with her and gave her to Jacob who pretty much begged to hold her. She grabbed my hand and I looked over at her. The shining blue eyes that were identical to Britts made me look away.
"GiGi!" She laughed giggled
"Me want GiGi." She said as she tried to move into my lap
I stood up and walked away leaving a crying baby.
"JJ, where are you going?" Will stopped me
"I cant." I said referring to Rae
"I understand." He said pulling me into a hug
"LaMontange family?" A doctor questioned walking into the waiting room
