Time Heals Everything

Chapter 8

I woke up the next morning to an empty bed again. I forgot Jacob has a 5:30 AM group and wouldnt be home until 4 tonight. I got out of bed and checked on a sleeping Rae. I grabbed the baby monitor and went down stairs to make coffee. I walked out on the patio and took in the ocean air and tried to relax.
"Hey, Britt." I heard come from Taylor. I did a little wave and went back to watching the water.
"Im going to your husbands crossfit gym. Do you want to join?" She asked stopping in front of my patio.
"Im good Rae isnt up yet. She didnt sleep well last night and I want her to sleep a little bit longer." I said with a fake smile
"Alright. Just a heads up you might want to keep it a little more quiet at night and put pants on before you come out front." She said a little upset at how I was dressed. I gave her a nod as she took off on her bike towards the gym.
I hate her. I thought to myself as I evaluated myself in the glass door behind me. I had to admit I thought I looked hot wearing only Jacobs shirt. As I thought about her comment being to loud. Why does she care about my sex life, at least Im getting some. I smirked before going back inside to get Rae up.

Around lunch time I got a call from JJ
"Hey." I said picking it up
"Hey." She said sounding a little sad and unconfident
"Whats wrong?" I asked putting Rae down and standing up
"We cant come visit you this weekend." She said disappointed in herself
"Why?" I asked getting upset
"Tyler has shown up in the DC area in the neighborhood. We cant leave in case he has been watching us. Im sorry honey." She said sounding like she was tearing up
"Um, its fine dont worry." I said wiping tears away
"I miss you guys." She said
"We miss you too. I...I have to go mom." I said hanging up and started to cry.
He has taken so much away from me.

Time-lapse
Week by week has passed slowly and painfully. We had to celebrate my birthday and Jacobs here without our families. Its been almost three months since we have seen everyone. Rae is starting to get older and will almost be one and by the looks of it our families will miss the huge milestone. Jacob put himself into the gym and wasnt home as much as he use to be. Slowly my family was being ripped apart and it was tearing me apart.
"Mama." Rae started yelling getting my attention away from cutting up fresh fruit for her
"Sorry baby girl." I said walking over to her and putting the fruit on her tray.
"Good afternoon my beautiful little family." Jacob said barging in drunk holding flowers and a teddy bear.
Shit. I thought to myself before standing up
"Go upstairs." I said pointing behind him
"I want to see my daughter." He said slurring
"Not when you are drunk. Wheres Nate?" I asked blocking him from walking any closer to Rae
"Hes at the gym. I left early." He said smiling his drunk grin
"Upstairs." I said getting upset
"No. You ruined my life. You are the reason we had to drop everything and move here." He said raising his voice.
This is the first time Jacob has become upset about the whole situation. I knew he has been due to him always working or not spending time with us as much.
"Fine. I will leave and let you take care of our daughter." I said walking upstairs to pack a bag
I grabbed a duffle bag and started to throw clothes in there. I walked over to my purse and made sure all devices were out of it and that I had my fake IDs and passports. I put my gun in there before getting interrupted by Jacob standing at the door.
"Your not going anywhere dammit." He said getting angry
"Your drunk and hate me. All the more reason to." I said shoving him and walking back down stairs
"Im so sorry baby. Mommy loves you and always will." I said giving Rae a kiss
"I love you." I said to Jacob and giving him a kiss
"I love you too. I hope I faked it well enough for the bugs they put in last week. It did hurt saying those things to you." He whispered in my ear before breaking away from our hug
"Be safe." He said giving me another kiss before I stormed out to my car.

My plan that I have been working on was set, now its time to carry it out. Thankful Jacob played out his role the way I wanted him to. I drove away leaving my family behind. It was time for Tyler to be found.
