Chapter 17

It has been a month of living in paradise you could say. Rae has been driving Jacob and I crazy with her nonstop talking and following us around.
"Britt open the door." Jacob said outside our bathroom door
"Yeah Mommy. Open up." Rae said hitting it
"No. I need time alone." I yelled back sitting on the counter with a glass of wine and a package of oreos
"Babe. Its Friday night." Jacob said sounding like he was going to beg.
"Congratulations. You two start the movie and I will be in soon." I laughed as he grunted and left
"Mommy we are going to watch Finding Dory." Rae laughed peeking in from the bottom of the door
"I will be out soon. I need to talk to GiGi. Than I will come out." I said trying to hid my laughter as her little feet pattered away

"Hello?" JJs tired voice answered
"Oh shit. Sorry mom I forgot its like eleven there." I said looking at the time
"No its fine. Ive been on a case all week and just got home." She said waking up a little more
"I will call you tomorrow morning. Sorry." I said laughing as she said goodbye and hung up
I chugged the rest of my wine and walked into the bedroom seeing the two people I love most.
"Mommy!" She yelled as I walked to my side of the bed and got in
"Finally. She is so excited to watch this movie." Jacob laughed as he pulled us both into him
An hour into the movie and she was fast asleep.
"I want another one." I said playing with her hair with her cuddled onto my chest.
"Was the test negative again?" He asked watching us and I nodded yes with tears filling up my eyes
"Maybe we should stop trying." I said still in awe of her sleeping peacefully.
"We will have another one when the time is right. Shes only a year and a half old. Lets enjoy her while shes still small and cute." He laughed kissing me on my forehead.
"When are we going to go back to Quantico?" I asked him wanting his opinion
"Whenever your ready. I mean this is our vacation house and we can rent it out when we arent here." He said sitting up
"Next month?" I asked as I watched him pick up Rae
"Sure if thats what you want. I will be back." He whispered carrying her back to her room

One Month Later

We landed back in Arlington, Virginia and was greeted by the family.
"Im so glad your back home." JJ said pulling me into a hug
"Me too." I said happy to be back on the East coast
"Jacob let me take her." I said reaching out to take a sleeping Rae from him
"B I heard you were shot." Henry said jumping up and down in front of me
"Ya. I was, who told you?" I asked as he pointed to Will
"Hey. It slipped I was freaking out and he must have over heard me talking to your mom." He said defending himself
"Its fine. They were going to find out anyway." I said messing up his hair with my free hand
"Alright I got our bags. Lets go home." Jacob smiled walking back over to us
"Almost a year in California and thats all you have." Will laughed at our only two suitcases
"We shipped the rest back." Jacob laughed as Rae started to wake up crying
"Hey. Your ok. We are back home." I said trying to calm her down as she took in her surroundings
"GiGi!" She yelled reaching over to JJ
"Wow. I feel like chopped liver." Will laughed sarcastically and we all laughed back

We finally made it to our real home.
"Whos house?" Rae asked as we got out
"This is ours. We bought it when your werent born yet." Jacob answered as we unlocked the front door
"I see the cleaning ladies still came." I said noticing there was no dust around.
"Well we did hire them." He laughed
"Come see the game room." Henry yelled as both her and Micheal followed him up to the room
"Does it feel good to be home?" JJ asked as we sat in the living room
"Yes. We can finally live in our house." I said cuddling up next to Jacob
"I upgraded the security system." Jacob said looking at his Ipad for hockey scores
"We are fine." I laughed standing up to go to the kitchen and JJ followed
"Uhg we need food." I said looking into the fridge
"Just go tomorrow and order in." She laughed at the lack of food
"We will. I need to buy clothes for Rae anyway. All we have are baby clothes here." I said before the two boys and small Rae came running in
"Guess what?" She said pulling at my legs
"What Raelynn?" I asked playing along
"Hen said we lived here."She said full of joy
"We did before we went to the beach." I said remembering the first time we took her home
"Why we leave?" She said yawning
"We wanted a break from here. You wanna take a nap?" I asked as she nodded and rubbed her eyes and carried her up to her room.

Im sorry if its been boring lately but Im really trying to speed it up so I can make it more interesting. I have writers block and might just end it soon with an epilogue if it continues. But thanks for still reading 😊
