Chapter 16

2 Months Later
"Hello Brittney." The doctor said coming in to my room
"Hi." I responded back with my eyes still closed
"So your body looks like it is fully recovered. This means you are able to leave the hospital today." He said as my eyes opened and filled with tears
"So I get to go home?" I asked wanting to hear it again
"Yes you get to go home. I recommend taking your husband up in staying in California for a while for some R and R time as a family, outside of the hospital." He said as I shook his hand and he left the room

"I brought some coffee!" Jacob almost sang coming into my room
"I brought Raelynn!" JJ mocked him as she followed behind
"As much as I love coffee, I would rather see my little girl." I laughed reaching my arms out for her
She sat in my lap playing with my hands as I talked to my mom and Jacob before Debra came in. Will and Mike had to go back for work leaving just JJ and Debra.
"She looks just like you Britt even more today." She said smiling and sitting down
"Mommy?" She asked looking up at me
"Ya baby?" I asked
"When do we go home?" She asked with her blue eyes shinning
"Well..." I started to say
"Well the whole clan is here now." The doctor laughed walking in with the interns
"Have you told then yet?" He asked and I nodded no and I received three questioning looks
"I get to go home today." I said loudly scaring Rae
"Sorry." I said wrapping her into a hug
Everyone stood and gave me a hug and were excited to finally leave.

A week later I was sitting watching the water from the beach house happy to be alive.
"I know that face." JJ said pulling me out of my thoughts
"What face?" I asked confused
"The face of not knowing what to do next." She said sitting next to me
"I really dont know what to do." I said picking up my coffee cup
"Well the job at Quantico is still open for you." She said taking a sip
"I think Im going to hold off on that for a while. Maybe just do consulting until Im ready to be back in the field." I said looking over at her
"So your going to move back?" She asked a little to excited
"Of course we are. We are defiantly not west coasters, but I know I will miss In N Out." I laughed
"Well I cant wait for that. I dont want to leave this paradise yet." She said referring to her leaving tomorrow
"We will be back soon. We just want some family time together." I laughed
"Or you just want Britt and Jacob time." She said winking at me
"Ok that too." I laughed as Rae ran out screaming
"Hey." I said grabbing her and pulling her into me
"Let me go mommy." She said fighting against me
"Why?" I asked tickling her a little
"Daddy a monster." She said giggling and as on cue a grumpy Jacob walking out onto the patio
"Rae go play inside." He said sounding tired and she listened and ran inside
"Well you look great." JJ said laughing
"She ran and jumped on me this morning." He said taking my coffee cup
"Well that was mine." I said sarcastically
"So I became the tickle monster." He said shrugging his shoulders
Honestly thinking and looking at Jacob as a father was the greatest thing ever. Raelynn had him wrapped around her tiny fingers. And he knew it.
"Well Im going to go pack." JJ said standing up and leaving just me and Jacob on the patio
"Is something wrong?" He asked looking at me
"No." I said but lied
"I know something is. Tell me." He said pulling his chair closer to mine
"We lost another one." I said fighting back tears
"Its ok. We have Rae and if thats all we are meant to have than I am ok with that. Besides I love having a daddies girl." He said with a small smile
"I want her to have a sibling." I said looking out to the water
"We can just let it take its course and if it happens it happens." He said smiling and standing up to pull me into a hug and guiding me inside to get our day started.
