Chapter 31

Raes fever still hasnt broken as of this morning. Jacob had to pack everything for us because she refused to let me put her down so I can help.
"You need to eat something." I said holding up toast for her to take a bite of as she shook her head no and hid it into my neck
"Daddy will feed you than." I said passing her to him so I could get ready
"Nooo." She screamed out and starting crying when I let go of her
"Shhhhh." Jacob said standing up and walking around with her to calm her down and trying to get her to eat

I finally was ready and double check everything Jacob packed for us to go home.
"She finally asleep?" I asked seeing Jacob still walking around holding a full piece of toast
"Ya. I think I need to change my shirt." He said giving her to me as I saw it was wet from her tears
"You are such a mommys girl." I said kissing her forehead as she cuddled in closer to me
"Ready?" Jacob asked with a new shirt on and I nodded

We finally landed and picked up Jacobs car and went to the doctors.
"No." Rae kept saying as I tired to put her on the bench for the doctor
"Its fine she can sit on your lap." The doctor said coming in and seeing me struggle with her.
"What seems to be the problem Raelynn." She said sitting down and looking at her
"Tummy." She said as an indicator she was going to throw up and Jacob grabbed the trash can
"How long as this been happing?" She asked as I held her hair up
"Since last night. She still has a fever that hasnt broken yet." As I grabbed a paper towel from Jacob to wipe her mouth
"Lets check your fever Raelynn." She said getting a thermometer and running it over her head
"It is a little high for my comfort. 109 to be exact." She said typing it into her computer.
"I want to say it is a stomach flu. She has all the symptoms for it. I recommend childrens motrin and childrens aspirin for the fever." She said looking at Rae before standing up and checking her vitals
"If she doesnt get better by the end of the week bring her back in for some testing." The doctor said walking us out off the office

"I just want her fever to break." Jacob said looking in the rear view mirror at me as I sat next to her carseat as she slept
"I do too." I said playing with her hair
"I know you are thinking about something." He said re focusing on the road
"I know but I think you know what I am thinking about." I said still focused all on Rae
"I love you. You know that right?" He said pulling into the neighbor hood
"I know. And I love you too." I said smiling
"Im not mad at you." He said driving past JJ and Wills house
"I know." I said looking at him in the rear view mirror
"I understand why you did it. I would have too." He said bringing up the memory of the fight
"Im sorry." I said trying to hold back tears
"Dont cry ok." He said pulling into the garage
"I dont like talking about it." I said unbuckling Rae to bring her inside
"I know and its in the past. We have some past, the now and the future now." He said as I got out and reached in the car for Rae
"Im going to take her in and put her in our bed." I said carrying her into the house

"I know what you are going to do." Jacob said as I walked back into the kitchen after I changed into work clothes
"What?" I asked putting my gun in my holster
"Dont do it for me." He said standing up and walking over to me
"Im not. Im doing it for us, for Rae." I said looking down and away from him
"Britt, look at me." He said lifting my chin to look at him
"I love you and I will support you in your decision." He said kissing my forehead as I blinked away tears

I drove my familiar route and walked my familiar path.
"Oh mini buttercup why are you here? Hows Rae? JJ told me she wasnt feeling to well." Garcia asked when she saw me walking down the hallway to Cruz's office
"Good just a stomach flu." I said stopping
"Why are you here? Hotch told us you were on a week of stand down." She said as her usually spitfire self
"I needed to talk to Cruz about some of my training." I said lying wanting her to believe it
"Ok. Will I see you this weekend for Henrys birthday?" She asked
"Yes of course you will." I said trying to be happy
"Alright the team needs me. I will tell JJ you stopped by." She said before I stopped her
"Please dont." I said almost begging her
"Ok I wont." She said giving me a nod catching on to me wanting to keep it a secret and walking away

I stood out front of Cruz's door and knocked.
"Come in." He said
I walked in and unholstered my gun and took my badge out of my back pocket and placed them carefully on his desk without a single word. We made eye contact and I slightly nodded and walked out.

So that episode was amazing!
