You know being with Gabe and the team was actually more fun than I had thought. Especially since I got the most amazing seats and I was able to hang out with the girlfriends and wife’s of the other players, which was pretty cool because they’re all such amazing women and I’ve got myself new friends and that just made being in Colorado a thousand times better.

We are returning back to Colorado tonight and Gabe has been keeping me busy. He would take me out for lunches and then we would go to an arcade and play games for two hours and then we would do random things to annoy his team mates. Like we ordered $278 worth of room service and got it sent to Nate’s room. He did end up paying for it and then we all just shared the food together.

“Do you have everything packed?” Gabe asks. I nod and grab all of my bags from our room and head out. I see the other guys getting out of their rooms and I go over to greet them.

“Good game last night guys!” I say. All the guys cheer and we go in groups of 7 down the lift. When it was my turn. I helped Gabe hold his hockey stick before he pressed the button for the lobby.

“So who is sitting next to whom on the plane?” I ask.

“I dibs sitting next to Nicole!” Nate calls out. Earning an annoyed grunt from all the other boys. Gabe leans in and whispers in my ear.

“I thought I was your plane buddy.”

“Gabe, I’ve been your room buddy for two days. I think you can handle some time away from me for a couple of hours.” I give him a smile and walk beside Nathan to the team’s bus and give in my luggage to the bus helper and then sit with Nate at the back of the bus.

“So your first game as a Colorado girl is the day after we arrive. How do you feel?” Nate asks as he buckles his seatbelt.

“Honestly? Colorado is an amazing place. I’ve enjoyed making such good friends, such as you guys, but I honestly do miss Tampa and miss my Tampa girls. But I know I’ve got to get over it some time. I can’t keep sulking about what’s happened and just be happy with what could happen. Do you understand?” Nate nods.

“I do.”

“Well god because I thought I sounded crazy.”

“Don’t worry. It’ll all be over soon and you may never know, you could make history in Colorado. You just have to believe.” I chuckle a little and look over at him,

“Sounds like I’m depressed and you’re my therapist.” I smile but still there was pain within me. Maybe I am still completely depressed about everything. I just don’t show it.

“I am your friend. That’s what I am here for.” Nate and I fist bump each other before doing our own little thing. Gabe sat across from me and I tapped his leg with my foot. He takes out his ear phones and looks over at me, giving a sweet smile as he did.

“Something wrong?” He asks.

“Nate takes up too much arm space!” I complain as I point to the well asleep Nathan. “I can’t sleep comfortably!” Gabe smiles and pats his lap. “Are you sure?” He nods and I unbuckle my seat belt and go over to Gabe and sit on his lap. He wraps his arms around me safely and I lean back into his chest. “This feels better.”

“It does. Now sleep my beauty. I’ll wake you up when we’re there.”

~Luke’s POV~

Touring has been exhausting. Being single has been annoying and I still couldn’t stop the hole in my heart. I needed to see her. Feel her back in my arms and how her lips always tasted like strawberry. And her soft hair in my fingers. Everything about Nicole. I just wanted to see her again.
