~Luke’s POV~

Nicole is asleep in my arms and I couldn’t stop looking at her peaceful face. Even after everything she has been through, seeing her like this was amazing. She was tired but I guess she’s always like that after a game. When we were in Sydney and we would hang out after her games, she would be exhausted.

I hold onto her hand and I feel my finger touching the ring. We’re engaged. To think that my all time wish has come true, I found myself smiling widely. She’s my fiancée. Just saying that in my head felt special. Knowing it just made everything better than it already is.

“You really love her, don’t you?” I look up and see that Calum is the only one awake. I nod at his question. “Well she loves you too. More than you may think. Has she told you what she did while you were in a coma?” What did she do? “She would talk to you. She’s the one that stayed here the most. The three of us were afraid to see you in the state that you were in. As for her…”He pauses to point at Nicole. “…she stuck by you. She stopped playing hockey just so she could stay with you.”

Calum took a second to breathe before continuing. “Every day she would watch movies with you, cuddle with you and did things, as if you were awake. I’m glad you’re back together. I don’t know what I would’ve done if you guys never got back together.”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, I don’t know what I would do to a sad and depressed Luke Hemmings. Because mate, when we were touring you were a little hard to take care of. But now that you’re with Nicole, you have your own angel to take care of you.” I smile at what he said. You have your own angel to take care of you. My little Maple Leaf. As she slept, I leaned down and kissed her forehead, then playing around with her hair. She smiles in her sleep and that was adorable.

“Luke, have you ever thought of having kids with her?” Cal asks.

“Well, yeah. I mean, I did have this whole fantasy of what life would be like if we were married and now I know that it’s going to happen. I couldn’t be happier.” Once again I kiss her forehead.

“Name choices? Girl and boy?”

“Abigail and Gregory. I don’t know why but they just sound so sweet. Especially with my last name. Abigail Hemmings and Gregory Hemmings or you know, Greg Hemmings. I would spoil the kids a lot and Nicole would be the kind of mother who opposes it but still lets me do it anyways because she is amazing like that.”

“Huh, those two names are the same ones that Nicole said.” I look up at Cal.

“Really?”

“Yeah. I think she also thought of middle names for them. Abigail Madeline Hemmings and then Gregory Christopher Hemmings. Christopher was her father’s name, she never got to say goodbye to him so I guess that is going to be her way of remembering her father.” My heart breaks a little as I remember her father. Someone so genuine, humble and kind. He’s gone. Nicole stirs in my arms and Cal and I shut up. Afraid that we were waking her up but when he eyes stay shut and she cuddles closer to me, we sigh and just continue on talking.

“What else did I miss in these past two months?” I ask. Calum chuckles.

A lot.”

~around a week later~

“LUKE GET BACK TO BED OR I WILL KICK YOU IN YOUR NUTS” Nicole threatened when I was walking around the room. I was taken off the IV yesterday but the doctor said I shouldn’t have too much movement but I really wanted to walk around and be somewhere else that isn’t the hospital bed.
