The long and exhausting flight to Sydney was absolutely tiring and the girls were more than awake when we were beginning to descend. Our conversation shifted from School, the competition and it somehow shifted into a conversation about me singing and the rest of the team being my backup singers. Which is why we have Kelly plugging her phone into the Port and selecting the French Version for Simple Plans amazing song ‘Jet Lag’. Something we will be getting very soon.

Knowing the lyrics by heart I wait for the main singing part. “Quelle heure est-il ou tu es?” I sang out.

“UN AUTRE AVION ET TU REPARS!”

“Je me sens si loin si tu savais!” I tried to stifle a laughter as the girls out sang me, being louder than the ‘main’ singer.

“J’ETTENDS TON RETOUR ENCORE!”

“C’est comme si on vivait à l’envers.”

“J’AIMERAIS TE DIRE QU’ON PURRA SI FAIRE!”

“BUT TRYING TO FIGURE THE TIME ZONES MAKIN’ ME CRAZY!!!!!” I shouted out, for the rest of the descend we blasted Simple Plan, Arctic Monkeys, One Direction, Hedley and all those bands that we all seemed to love. It wasn’t until a very unfamiliar, but catchy song came up. All the girls were dancing crazily to it and I catch a glimpse of coach laughing at us as our film crew, well, filmed all this.

Claire sits next to me and I can see her fangirling. In fact everyone except for me was fangirling. I tap her on the shoulder and whisper in her ear.

“I don’t recognise this song.”

“This is 5 Seconds of summer. The band I told you about?!” I nodded and listened carefully to the song and I soon found myself dancing too.

“YOU’RE JUST A LITTLE BIT OUT OF MY LIMIT. IT’S BEEN TWO YEAR NOW, YOU HAVEN’T EVEN SEEN THE BEST OF ME!” The girls sang and I sat there as I watched my team mates be the crazy fan girls that they are. This band is damn good, how come I never heard of them?

Then my mind goes back to the day coach announced we were going to Australia. The blonde haired boy that I saw on Claire’s phone. I still don’t know who he is and now that I have been reminded of him; my brain is back to feeling wrecked.

Our coach gave us a printed paper each which had everything we needed to know for our duration here in Australia. I sigh and notice that we have about five hours to kill until our press conference. I mean I could visit people, considering I used to live here, but I couldn’t remember anyone’s address and I’m not sure whether or not they’re still here, or if I really remember them at all. It has been eight years.

Kelly and Claire and I decided we might as well go for a walk. Enjoy the warmth of Australia while we could. I changed quickly into my favourite pair of shorts, supra’s and a white tank top that hanged a little below my armpits to reveal the tube top I wore inside.  Thankfully our hotel was situated near a little hang out spot and we went straight for Starbucks.

“White Chocolate Mocha with whipped cream please.” I ordered and as he tapped away my drink I heard Claire and Kelly squealing I turned around to see who had entered. All I recognized was a boy with bright pink hair and I knew now that he must be the same guy from Claire’s phone. I then looked for the blonde hair and once I spotted him I looked at his face. He seemed familiar but I couldn’t put a name to it.

As if he sensed me looking at him, the blonde boy looked up and looked at me and smiled but the smile soon grew larger and he excused himself from his group of friends and walked over to me. He completely ignored Claire and Kelly and stood in front of me. I gulped down and he only laughed.
