28. protecting me

I am just strolling around hogwarts for my prefect patrol with lily. We love walking around the library for sneaky trips to read. Please dont think weird, if i did something to lily id probably be dead because james would be on the map all night.

James loves it when he bribes me to talk about him when i patrol with lily.

"Hey umm lily have you noticed james, he really got fat" i started awkwardly

"Now that you mention it i think i noticed too, remus can you keep a secret for me ?"

"Sure i wont tell anyone"

"Snape said the m word to me today, i tried persuading him away from the dark arts but he wont listen what would you do if sirius was snape ?"

"What ?! I dont like sirius no not at all he is just a friend" i said nervously unfortunately my face didnt help by getting red. Then she tripped me ! Lily evans tripped me. I didnt fall, i just staggered a bit but a picture of sirius fell out of my robes

"Well what do we have here aye ?" Lily said with a smirk.

I hid my red face by bending to get the picture"No no im just holding it for a friend honest" then i think my clothes are eaten by rats because more pictures fell out of my pockets.

"Serious im holding these for a friend..." lily raised an eyebrow "fine you got me, i do like sirius. Shut up just dont tell anyone until im brave enough to tell him myself" i said swatting lily playfully.

"Of course re-" lily eyes moved to a dark corridor.

There was a sound of punching. No not a boxing sound. This sounds like fists meeting flesh. Lily met my eyes and i whispered

"Lils go find a teacher i will hold them off if they attack" i said pushing her away

"Okay ill search Mcgonaggal"

She ran to the teachers dorm and i crept closer to the sound. Punches and hurt came round. My wand ready incase the mad man tried anything. The corridor was dark and was a restricted section of the castle. Because that section is where the ghosts usually be and dumbledore dont like bothering them. I stepped behind a pillar and peeked.

"Go ahead lucius throw another punch at me. Ill make your hair turn purple for the rest of the month bet narcissa wont like it" and voice which i reconized to be sirius. His voice is hurt but he hid it with a cocky tone

Then more punches. I think he is cornered by some slytherins who dont like him. Since sirius got into gryffindor and hung out with us, some slytherins and his pureblood family member dont like it.
I peeked one more time and saw shadows of other slytherins and 1 ravenclaw who lost to sirius in quidditch.

"Oh i know your werewolf boyfriend"
The ravenclaw boy said

"Right he is patrolling with the mudblood. Lets hunt him down and beat him up too" a maniacle woman voice who i think is bellatrix said.

"No dont please kill me not him" sirius said almost begging

I stepped out of the pillar. Sirius eyes widened and shouted "No moonyy go away run away leavee"

"You are looking for me, yes? Well here i am" i said. They threw spells at me which i easily blocked. Did i mention i scored an outstanding in DADA ? How cocky of me !

Lucius crept behind me a strangled my neck. I judo flipped him to the pillar. He dead fo sure. The bellatrix threw a spell and hit me. I bent down getting my fallen wand. Then sirius stood up and dueled his cousin. Sirius threw spells easily and i stood up battling the ravenclaw.

"PETRIFICUS TOTALUS" i shouted at the boy and he froze. I did the same thing to lucius. Then to the other slyhterin boys. Then i joined sirius at his fight. before bella could get a swing, i shouted the same spell and she froze with a angry face.

Then sirius collapsed. Who knew he was so beat up. He bloody nose and bruised arms are proof of how long they tortured him. I held his limp body and tried healing him. All prefects know how to heal like madam pomfrey just incase there emergencies.

"Hei rem seems you are awarewolf today" sirius said abit weak but stil cocky

"Shut up you are bleeding and you still make a werewolf joke. How hilarious" i said whispering the incantations. When i heard footsteps approuch

"What is this ?!" Mcgonaggal shrieked.

"Well Mam some students want to me beat up for some reason and he petrificus totalused them" sirius explained.

Mcgonaggal looked to the other students who were lying down like a statue
"10 points will be taken from slytherin and ravenclaw house for each student that is involved for their disgraceful actions. I am really disapointed. Dumbledore will give special punishments"

"As for mr. Lupin and ms. Evans i will award 10 points each for being good prefects and now i shall bring mr. Black to poppy. You can leave to the dorms now. I will take care of them later"

She helped sirius up and brought him to the hospital wing.

Later that night i couldnt sleep. I didnt know how sirius' doing. I grabbed james' invisibility cloak and crept out. I went to the hospital wing and looked for sirius.

He was lying facing the the ceiling. Eyes open and his thumbs twiddling.
"Hey siri how are you ?" I said quietly
"Hei rem i am not that okay but ill be... come sit" he said patting a spot on his bed.
"I heard what they said. I didnt know how they knew my secret. Thanks for fighting for me" i said pushing a strand of hair away from his face. O my that sounded gay af, oh wait i am gay.

"So i bet you heard about the boyfriend thing too"
"Yeah i did and im actually happy"
"Awee to make it official, will you be my boywolf ?" He said winking
"Of course i will" i said kissing his forehead and making him sleep in my arms.

Mcgonaggal's pov
"Albus give me my 10 galleons i knew he'll go visit black" i said stretching my hand.
"O alright minerva but you give me 5 galleons for pairing them up before you realized" albus taking some of my galleons.
Then poppy showed up
"Now you both give me 15 galleons for keeping them safe" poppy said demandingly
Albus and i sighed and handed her the money
