"Shut up!" joked Lexi Olinsky as she smacked Eva on the arm.

"You know you love me!" joked Eva as she kept her eyes on the road.

Eva and Lexi were partners at the 21st. The two of them were driving around on patrol. Lexi looked out the window to see two men slipping in the backdoor of an abandoned building with a bulging backpack.

"Dawson," called Lexi, pointing at the men as the door swung shut behind them.

"You call it in. I'll park the car around the corner," stated Eva as they sprung into action.

"Dispatch hold us down at 877 Northeast Drive."

The two of them climbed out of the car, hands in their guns. When they approached the door Eva pointed her gun at the rusted steel door while Lexi knocked.

"Chicago PD! Open up!" called Lexi, waiting.

The door slowly swung open, a man with a machine gun on the other side. Lexi immediately pulled out her gun, pointing it at the man. He had an evil spread across his face and dark green eyes. The man wore a black hoodie and dark jeans.

"Drop the gun!" yelled Eva.

"Not happening sweet cheeks. You and your little partner here drop your guns or you'll be littered with bullet holes," threatened the man.

Lexi looked over at Eva who was slowly raising her hands in surrender. She emptied her gun, Lexi following suit. They both threw their guns on the ground by his feet.

"Okay. No one needs to get hurt. Now why don't you drop your gun," pressed Eva calmly.

"Not happening sweetie. Give me your radios too," demanded the man before shoving them inside the building.

Eva and Lexi were knocked to the ground once they were inside. Immediately, they started looking around for clues. Eva spotted the back pack Lexi saw. There was two boys, both holding guns to there heads. Suddenly a third boy waltzed into the room, shoes clicking against the floor.

"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Some pretty officers?" questioned the man in a crude tone.

"Look when we don't call in, our unit is gonna come looking for us," threatened Eva in a calm voice.

"Don't worry mi amor, this building will be long gone by then," spoke the man, emerging from the shadows of the building.

"You speak Spanish," observed Lexi, trying to connect with the man.

"Yes I do and so does your partner," smiled the man, green eyes blazing with power.

"How do you know I speak Spanish?" asked Eva, slightly confused.

"You're Eva Hernandez, formally Eva Dawson. Your dad works in Intelligence and your husband is an author and screenplay editor for big time movies. The two of you have a daughter together... Luna," informed the man, knowing everything.

"What about you? What's your name?" pressed Eva, hoping to gain more information.

"Carlos Garcia. I guess you don't remember me. We used to be next door neighbors until your parents got divorced. I had the biggest crush on you and when I asked you out you immediately said no. You broke my heart," spat Carlos, clearly holding a grudge.

"Carlos, that was 8 years ago. Can't you let it go?" questioned Lexi.

"Shut up you little bitch! Or I'll have Garrett put a bullet in the back of your head!" yelled Carlos, clenching his fists in anger.

"No Carlos, there is no need for that. What's your plan here? I know you have a plan because you're smart," complimented Eva, diffusing the immediate danger.
