Chapter 6 - Queen Nia

Clarke's POV

I wake up in the same room Lexa is letting me use while we're in Polis. I don't know what she has planned today but I intend to find out soon. I get out of bed and get dressed as usual and I make my way to the dinning room to have breakfast. Lexa joins me after a few minutes.

"Anything planned for today, Commander?" I ask

"Well after Skaikru has become the 13th clan, Queen Nia has called for a meeting with all of the 12 clans ambassadors. I suspect she questions whether or not I am fit to be the Commander. She might challenge me to a fight against one of her warriors. Do not worry Clarke, I will make sure that it doesn't get out of hand." she replied reassuringly.

"When does the meeting take place?"

"In an hour. You will be there considering you are the Skaikru ambassador. When the meeting starts, do what you think is right for your people, that is all I ask of you, Clarke."

"You are what's right for me people. Without you, the Ice Nation would have wiped us out by now, thank you for protecting us."

"I'm doing what I feel is right, now if you don't mind we should start heading to the meeting, we can't keep them all waiting for us." she said smirking.

"You lead the way, but first come here." I said acting innocent.

She walked closer to me with a smile on her face.

"Now what?" she asked smirking.

"This" I replied

I cupped her face and brought it closer to me and kissed her. She kissed me back and I could feel both of our cheeks warming up. I waited so long to show her what she means to me. She pulled away and she was blushing.

"We will finish this later, but now we have a meeting to attend." she said smiling and kissed my cheek.

"Ugh fine." I replied.

Lexa and I walk into the room and we're the first ones there. I took my seat in the chair dedicated to the Skaikru ambassador. She takes a seat in her throne and waits for the rest to arrive. After a few minutes, the room starts to fill and shortly later the meeting begins.

Nia is the first to stand.

"I assume you are all wondering why we are here today. Well, let me explain. Yesterday Skaikru was let into the coalition, which makes question why they were let in. Has the Commander become weak? I believe so. That is why today, I am calling for a vote of no confidence upon all of the ambassadors. Everyone who believes that the Commander is weak, raid your hands." she says, it seems as if she as if she has rehearsed this.

More than half of the 13 clans' ambassadors hands go up. I look at all of them in disbelief. I would never think Lexa is weak, she is the strongest person I have ever met.

"I know what you want Nia. Don't waste any of our time and issue the challenge" Lexa says confidently.

"I challenge you to a fight. My son, Roan, Prince of Azgeda will fight for me." she responds.

"Who will fight for you, Heda?" Titus asks.

"I'm the Commander, no one fights for me." she responds looking directly into Nia's eyes.

Everyone leaves after a few minutes of silence, which leaves me and Lexa alone.

"You don't stand a chance against Roan." I say with concern in my voice.

"You've never seen me fight."

"Yes, but I've seen him fight while I was on the run and he's pretty good at it."

"If I die, the next Commander will protect you. I will promise you that."

"Lexa, I don't want the next Commander. I want you." I say desperately.

"You are so fucking irresistible Clarke." she says as she walk towards me and kisses me passionately.

We make out for a few minutes until there is a knock on the door. Dinner has been served in the dinning room. After dinner, Lexa invites me to her room and we continue what we started, but more intimate than it was previously.
