Chapter 10 - Azgeda

Clarke's POV

I awoke the following morning before Lexa, which is a first. I watch her sleep because she looks so beautiful and peaceful when she's sleeping. After a few minutes she opens her eyes and notices I was watching her.

"Why were you staring?" she asks.

"Because you're beautiful and I love you." I smile at her

She blushes and leans in to kiss me. I kiss her back and we both get up to get dressed. After we're dressed, we head to breakfast to eat before the meeting with the leaders of all 12 other clans. To be honest, I am pretty nervous. Not for me, but for Lexa. I don't know what will happen at that meeting, but I think Azgeda will want war against all the other clans, they have a bigger army than the other clans combined.

We finish breakfast and we head to the room so we the meeting we are attending can start. Lexa tried to reassure me that there will not be a war with Azgeda during breakfast, but I am still nervous. We walk in the room and the rest of the leaders are there. We take our seats and the meeting begins.

"Let the meeting begin" Titus says.

The meeting lasted for an hour, it was mostly Azgeda arguing about the death of their Queen, but Roan stepped in the assure Lexa that he will make sure they will not start anything. We all decided that if Azgeda's army is to come 100 miles near any of the other clans' villages, the leaders of the clans will either be sentenced to death, or locked up until they agree to not declare war.

After the exhausting meeting, Lexa and I decided that I should start training to fight, in case an inevitable war does start. Evidently, my main priority is being a healer, I would definitely appreciate the time spent training to defend myself properly instead of relying on a gun, which could easily fail me.

We head towards the training grounds just outside of the Capitol with swords and other weapons we might get a chance to use, but Lexa wants to focus on hand to hand combat for now. Lexa shows me the best stance that would give me an advantage during a fight and shows me basic moves that I would use the most often. After a few minutes of showing me some moves, we start fighting each other. Obviously Lexa won, but she definitely took it easy on me so that I could get used to this. By the end of the training, I improved slightly and was exhausted. We walked back to our room and instantly passed out as soon as we got into bed.
