Lexa's POV
Since we've arrived in Trishanakru, I haven't seen Clarke often. I've been helping train warriors and she's been doing other things, but refuses to tell me what. She just tells me that I'll find out soon. We leave tomorrow, which means Clarke better hurry up and tell me what she's been doing during this past week. I wait by the fire hoping Clarke will be back early so that we can eat together. After a few minutes of waiting for her, she sits next to me and gives me a kiss.
"How about you follow me?" she asks.
"Where?"
"Don't ask questions, just follow me."
"You better not kill me."
"I promise, if I do, it's not on purpose."
I follow her into the forest and we stop at a clearing which has a blanket on the ground and two plates of food with a couple candles surrounding the area. It was still light out so the butterflies haven't come out yet.
"This is beautiful Clarke."
"I didn't spend a week out here for nothing. I'm glad you like it." she responds.
We both sit down on the blanket and we start eating.
"How did you find this place?" I ask.
"Anya showed it to me, I thought it was beautiful and decided to bring you out here."
"You're such a romantic."
"The butterflies should arrive in 10 minutes, we should finish eating before they arrive."
After 10 minutes of eating, we start to notice butterflies glowing around us and in the trees. I get up to take a closer look at them and let them rest on my shoulders. I turn around to face Clarke and notice she isn't there. I look down and I see her down on one knee and holding a ring in her hands.
"I know this isn't exactly what you do in your culture, but Anya kept telling me that you'll be happy to see how my culture celebrates eternal love. The first time I walked into your tent, I was scared that you were going to wipe us all out. I was scared that you would reject the truce. I was scared that you hated me and my people. No matter how many times people tried to tell you to kill me, you didn't. You never considered it. When I first saw you, I knew there was something different about you. I thought that you were the most beautiful person in the entire world. I fell in love with you. I fell in love with the way that you make me feel, the way that you look at me and the way that you treat me. Do you promise, to keep treating me the way that you've been treating me for the rest of our lives?" she asks with tears in her eyes.
"Yes, of course I do." I say excitedly.
"Will you marry me?" she asks.
"Yes!"
