Clarke's POV
I wake up and notice that Lexa is already gone. I get out of bed and get dressed and that's when I remembered something. The fight between Roan and Lexa. It's today. I notice a note on the table.
Today is the fight against Roan, do not fear Clarke I will do my best to protect you and Skaikru. The fight begins at noon. I will be in my throne room until it is time for the fight, I hope you will meet me there soon.
-Lexa
I make my way to the throne room and I see Lexa sitting in her throne talking to the Natblidas. I wait by the door until she's finished so that I can talk to her. After about 10 minutes of watching her interact with the kids, they follow Titus out of the room. Lexa looks over at me and nods, signaling that I can come closer.
"You don't have to do this Lexa. I can't lose you. You don't stand a chance against Roan." I say worriedly.
"I do have to do this. These are my people and I have to show them that I am strong. You won't lose me, Clarke I can defend myself. You've also never seen me fight." she says seriously.
"I might have never seen you fight, but I've seen Roan and he's twice your size."
"I know Clarke, but I know his weakness. Just believe in me, please."
"Okay, I think you can pull it off." I say with a smile.
She hugs me tightly and kisses me softly. Titus walks in after we hear the signal of the start of the fight go off.
"It's time, Commander." he says.
"This is goodbye, for now." she says as she looks at me.
"I know you can do this." I reply.
They both exit the room. i stay back for a few minutes to collect myself and my thoughts.
She can do this. I know she can. I think to myself.
I head out of the room and make my way to where the fight will be held. I push myself through the crowd so that I can be at the front watching the woman I love fight for her people. She notices that I arrive and she smiles at me.
"I'm glad you came."
"Me too"
She takes the sword from the man that took her armor. I notice a man sneak up behind her. The crowd starts shouting at Lexa. She turns around and lunges at him. He's taken by surprise and he barely dodges her swing. He's slow, that must be the weakness she was talking about. They circle eachother waiting for the other to make a move. He makes his move first, he lunges at her but Lexa easily dodges his swing and manages to trip him. He falls to the ground and drops his sword. He has a worried expression on his face. Lexa brings her sword to his throat. Queen Nia stands up from her chair and yells at her son.
"If you die, you don't die a prince. You die a coward."
"Just get it over with, she hates me anyways." Roan says to Lexa.
Lexa looks at him, then back at the Queen. She takes her sword and throws it directly into the Queen's chest. She coughs up blood and her eyes roll to the back of her head.
"The queen is dead." Lexa yells. "Long live the king." She continues.
She gets up and gives a hand to Roan. The crowd starts cheering, Lexa doesn't seem to notice since she looking directly at me with a small smile. I love it when she smiles. I smile back at her and start walking towards her and I give her a hug.
After a few hours of celebration involving alcohol, Lexa and I went back to the tower and stumbled into our room. As soon as the doors closed, we started to drunkenly make out. She led me to the bed where we both collapsed and passed out in each others arms.
