This is specifically about drama on the internet (not limited to Wattpad). I'll separate each section with question marks.

¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

One thing that's unnecessary is the fact that some people will target a person and then publicly attack them. If you have a problem with a person or something that a person does, that means it's between you and that person; it's between two individuals.

Fun fact: DID YOU KNOW THAT Wattpad, AO3, AFF, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, MySpace (not that anyone uses that anymore), gaming sites, and many other social media platforms have this super advanced feature commonly referred to as private messaging, or PM for short? It is a simple, easy to use system that is of no cost to you. Of course, some sites have a different name for these personal inboxes, but they all generally work the same. Somewhere on the page or app, there will be an icon or a drop down menu that will lead to your very own private inbox! If you have to add the person as a friend or something before you can message them, you can always publicly ask them to "hit you up" so that the two of you can have a one-on-one conversation! Try this unique function out today for free! Yes, free! Don't delay: the private messaging feature will be available free for all users for an unlimited time only. CertainTermsConditionsAndRestrictionsMayApply.

This means that there is no need to leave problematic messages where everyone has access to it. Attacking people like this in the open inevitably leads up to a ton of people ganging up on the targeted person, and that's just not cool. It's mean, it's hurtful, it's petty, and it's unfair. It can also be frightening for the person being targeted. Like, hey, stob it.

News flash: group chats aren't private nor confidential and they never will be.

I just love when people comment on drama like "I don't know what happened but-" Let's just stop right there. What- Who-

wyd?! If you don't know what happened, why the heck are you making a comment? Like, it's obviously not any of your business since you aren't even informed on what's going down

Who dafuq is you? Go stick your nose in your own garbage.

It's so childish. I don't give a rat's ass if you are an actual child. There are other kiddie pools to splash around in. Why do you feel the need to go play in the pool that you weren't invited to, the one you know will cause trouble? Like, get the H2O-U-T.

¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

I already said this on my Watty wall, and now I'm going to say it again. Just because you HAVE the right to say something does NOT mean you ARE right to say it.

This means that yes, this is the internet. We can all say whatever the heck we want to. (Freedom!) Nobody can stop us from plaguing the world wide web with our pixelated subjectivities. It's our right to say what we want to and state our opinions and share our ideas.

Thing is, sometimes what want to voice isn't something we should tell everyone. Everything we say has the potential to make an impact on people's' lives. It can offend, trigger, embarrass, and/or change people. Since some folks are too narcissistic to care about anyone else, I'll go ahead and point out that it can embarrass you, make people dislike you, lead up to you getting bullied, cause your friends to leave you, and/or force the site/app to delete your account(s).

You can say all day that you don't care what anyone says to or about you, but the truth is that we're all human and we all have feelings whether we like it or not. You can think that hateful comments thrown your way don't affect you in the slightest, but the subconscious part of the mind proves otherwise. Just about everything we experience (yes, this includes reading comments) is stored in our nonconscious mind, which alters our judgment, decisions, and feelings, and it contributes to personality development. It changes us indirectly, in the background, under the radar, meaning we won't recognize the changes while it's happening. The brain is extraordinary, so don't underestimate it. According to neuroscience, getting hated on, in fact, affects us.

Again, I understand that anyone can say whatever they do so please here on the internet, but some things are better left unsaid...or at least worded differently.

Certain things you should truly keep to yourself. If you absolutely cannot keep your mouths/thumbs/fingers quiet, you could just share these thoughts with a super close friend whom you KNOW FOR A FACT will keep it secret between the two of you. You can make a private "Burn Book" (Mean Girls 4 life) or you can type it up in a random book on here without making it super obvious as to who it's directed towards, which means not mentioning their name/nickname/username, talking about a specific incident, using the words "a certain someone," or "you know who you are," and so on).

>>And don't you people start pointing fingers at me for publishing this. I'm not writing this with anyone specific in mind, so shove your fingers back in your puh-...ockets. Thanks.<<

Also, why the heck do some people think it makes them cool to go around encouraging cyber bullying? They might as well be instigating violence. One spiteful sentence can hurt a person as much as a punch in the face. That's all I have to say on that.

¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

And for Pete's sake would people PLEASE just do their dang research before making an argument. Yeah, sure, the opposing person may be as ignorant as you are, but then there's people like me *cough* who read y'all's petty arguments for the fun of it, people like me who actually have their facts straight. Yes, we are judging you for being downright dumb. Might as well change your name to Patrick Star. Pinhead.

A lot of people make themselves look like complete and total morons because they use false "facts" to back up their point, or they quote questionable/invalid sources...again, false "facts." IT'S EVEN WORSE WHEN THE OTHER PERSON BELIEVES THOSE INACCURACIES! LIKE GOOD JOB MATE, YOU CREATED SOMEONE AS IMBECILIC AS YOU!

Oh my God, I swear I'm going to make an entire chapter on how to do proper research for these fools who spread ignorance like a plague. (Can you tell it's a pet peeve? lmao)

¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?

Listen, I'm not dumb. I know that drama can be super entertaining. I know that participating in the drama is sometimes really fun and exciting, especially when there are people who agree with you. It's cool because these people that support your opinions build up your ego, and then you will have attracted this little group that will back you up whenever someone tries to stop you or says you're wrong. I know how this works.

I often like drama, too. It's like watching a ridiculous TV show without the TV. Even though I like it and even though I would love to shove my unpopular, controversial opinions in everyone's faces, you don't see me butting into all this drama that's none of my business. I am living proof that you can control the desire to instigate and stir up trouble.

Drama will always exist, but widespread drama on social websites (especially ones that are here as a safe place for us to share our art [writings] with a community that will enjoy them) is unnecessary and damaging. One way or another, drama is going to hurt people and bite everyone who participates in it in the ass later because "karma" is everyone's omniscient disciplinarian.

I don't care how old someone is; joining in on petty drama, publicly humiliating people, instigating, bullying others, and butting in on situations that have absolutely nothing to do with you is incredibly immature. It makes those who participate/start it absolutely disgusting and detestable.

Seriously,
Grow. The. Fuck. Up.
