I'm just gonna cut to the chase bc I don't wanna spill my secrets for success here.

In general, research means you search EVERYWHERE. You compare info, you read into the source, you do NOT limit yourself to one extreme. Research is a rainbow, so don't limit yourself to strictly cool colors or strictly warm colors.

You know what? I'll give you a taste of my methods. Let's learn a little today.

Perfect example~ What is jihad? :')

"Jihad can mean 'holy war,' or more correctly, 'struggle...'

There are actually two jihads – the Lesser and the Greater Jihad...lesser jihad is...'holy war.' But the Qur’an cautions Muslims against fighting unnecessarily. War is...a defensive measure, not an offensive one.

...Greater Jihad...is an inner struggle for Allah...struggle to be a better person... Pursuing a degree can be seen as jihad.

...a struggle to improve society...

On a religious level, Jihad is an attempt to find harmony among the ideas of submission to Allah, faith and righteous living." [muslimvoices.org, author is the program coordinator of Voices and Visions organization]

What we got from this:
•2 jihad: greater (inner struggle) & lesser ("holy war")
•Qur'an says only fight to defend
•struggle to be a better person
•perusing a degree
•struggle to improve society
•"find harmony among the ideas of submission to Allah, faith and righteous living."

Cool, next:

"...Muslims use Jihad to describe three...kinds of struggle...inner struggle to live out the Muslim faith...struggle to build a good Muslim society...Holy war: the struggle to defend Islam, with force if necessary.

...writers claim...Jihad is the internal spiritual struggle...

However there are so many references to Jihad as a military struggle in Islamic writings that it is incorrect to claim that the interpretation of Jihad as holy war is wrong.

The internal Jihad...Prophet Muhammad...called the greater Jihad.

...On his return from a battle, the Prophet said: "We are finished with the lesser jihad; now we are starting the greater jihad." He explained to his followers that fighting against an outer enemy is the lesser jihad and fighting against one's self is the greater jihad (holy war).

This quotation is regarded as unreliable by some scholars. They regard the use of jihad as meaning 'holy war' as the more important.

When Muslims, their faith or territory are under attack, Islam permits[/]directs the believer to wage military war to protect them.

...there is a long tradition of Jihad being used to mean a military struggle to benefit Islam." [BBC.co.uk, no author, no citations]

What we got from this:
•3 jihad: inner struggle to be a good Muslim, struggle to make good ummah, "holy war"
•many Islamic writings say jihad is military struggle, so it means "holy war"
•Muhammad said the internal struggle = greater jihad, but some scholars say that it's an unreliable source and claim that holy war jihad is more important.
•Islam says to wage war if believers/faith/territory are attacked
•"long tradition of Jihad being used to mean a military struggle to benefit Islam."

Alright, last:

"The Arabic word 'jihad' is often translated as 'holy war,' but in a purely linguistic sense...'jihad' means struggling or striving.
