There's Always A Reason... [Book 1]

Chapter 7

Max's POV

Sean had finally found his mate. After so long, he finally found her but unfortunately, she was a human.

It was nothing wrong for me but for him, it would've been better to die than have a human mate.

He ran inside another room and I followed him but then I saw Simon midway so, I went to him and asked him to come along.

When he saw the tension on my face, he agreed and came along. But, I don't know why, when I reached the room, he wasn't with me.

I entered and saw Sean punching a same spot on the wall again and again.

"Stop it. God dammit, stop it. Are you crazy, Sean? After so long, you found your mate and you're like that. Leila is your mate, go talk to her." I tried to calm him.

"You don't get it. I finally found her but, she's a human." With that, he threw the table.

"Wait, okay. I called Simon." I told him.

Just then I was about to leave to check where Simon was, he came in and saw the room's condition.

"Hey, what happened?" He asked surprised.

"Simon, there's a great news for you." I said trying to sound very excited.

"Really?" Simon asked in confirmation.

"Yeah. Actually, Leila is Sean's mate." I said awkwardly.

"Oh, really?" Simon asked in disbelief.

"Simon, please inform your family except Leila, I'll tell her myself."
Sean popped in coldly.

"Listen, Ryan. Please be a little gentle. You know she's not good with vampires."
Simon told Sean.

"I know, Simon. I'll handle her." Then Sean took off his coat and walked outside the room.

"Listen Max, I know it's difficult for Ryan, but remember, even if the world's smallest harm comes to Leila 'cause of him, that day, something very  bad will happen."
Simon warned.

I just hummed in response.

Then we went outside towards the Main Hall where Sean, Leila and that boy, Sean was being jealous of, were standing.

Sean and Leila were staring each other in their eyes as if both were in the same trance while that boy was feeling awkward as he first looked at Sean then Leila then Sean again.

When we reached, we found that that boy was creating some issues but Simon handled it and that's when I saw that cute girl we met earlier, going somewhere.

But I popped in front of her.

"Hey..." I said awkwardly.

"Um...hey" She replied back in the same manner.

"I'm Ryan's friend. We met earlier."
I tried to remind her.

"Oh, yeah. You are Mr. Rude boy's friend. I recognized you." I was shocked that she remembered me.

"Would you like to dance with me?" I blurted out.

"Sorry?" She said with widened eyes.

"Uh, I know it's weird that I suddenly showed up and then asked you for a dance. I'm sorry." I said taking her 'sorry' as a no.

"No, no. You're taking it all wrong, though everything you said is true...but it's okay. I guess." She said blushing and whispered the last part.

"Can I take that as a yes?"
I asked hopefully.
