There's Always A Reason... [Book 1]

Chapter 8

Leila's POV

I suddenly opened my eyes and before I knew, a head thrashing pain hit me. I reached out for my head but I was feeling very weak as if I was barely breathing.

Then suddenly I felt two strong hands covering the sides of head and pressing it while mumbling something.

I still couldn't make out what were the words or even the place.

"It's okay. Sit back." Somebody guided me.
And I followed it.

After some moments, I finally made out where I was.

In a white place. It was definitely a hospital.

Humans definitely never found any other better place look like white heaven than a hospital.

And as much as I hate to admit it, but Ry-Sean was the one comforting me.

I looked at him and everything that happened before I fainted and everything Momma and Dedda said, came into my mind.
We both were staring each other when...

"Leila, oh my God." I heard Anna saying while running towards me with her open arms.

That's when Sean removed his hands from my head slowly so the pain won't thrash again and broke the staring. Ace and Em also came towards me while running.

"Honey, are you okay?" Anna asked concerned.

"Yeah, just a little headache." I said with a weak smile.

"El, you scared the hell out of us." Em said and I just smiled in reply.

"Leila, what happened? Did somebody do something?"
Ace asked while glaring Sean who, in return, just went away.

"Ace...nothing happened" I tried.

"Yeah, that's why you left your whole family and went home with a complete stranger."
Ace reminded me.

"I left 'cause-" I started explaining but Anna interrupted me.

"Whatever the reason was, Leila, what you did was wrong. You just had to tell anyone of us and I swear we would've left everything for you."
Anna said.

"I know, I know. That's why I didn't tell anyone. It was your and Alex's special day. How could I ruin it just because of a stupid reason of mine?"
I tried to convince them and I saw that I didn't even cross the first level.

"But you don't find your mate everyday, right?"
Em said and I swear I froze.

"And that's what family's for." She continued.

And all I could reply with was, "Huh?"

"We all know it, Leila."
Anna said while trying to pass me a smile.

"Who told you that?" Now I knew this was never ending here. All this 'bond' thing.

"That doesn't really matter. What matters is that you found your mate." Ace said excitedly.

Somebody knocked the door and tried to see through the space between the almost-close door and the frame.

"Come in, Zack." I said with a big smile.

"Um, you done with your scolding?"
He seriously said that and everyone in the room, except me, glared him.

"Well, you saved me. " I said while shrugging my shoulders.

He devilishly smiled.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"It's not me who saved you, princess. Your beloved mate  did." He said and I just rolled my eyes in response, while he just smirked.
