"It's not the size of the fangs, it's the way you bite..."

Leila's POV

What did he mean by spend days with him?

Didn't he know that even talking to him for 5 minutes made me highly...uncomfortable?

"You heard me clearly."
Sean said in an ordering tone.

I remember, the first time we met in the woods, he said something like that in the same tone.

"No, I didn't. "

"Repetition won't change the meaning."

"Repeat."
This time it was me, talking in an ordering tone but with gritted teeth.

"Look, I'm not asking you to kill a bunch of rogues for me. I'm just asking you to spend some time with me. What's the big deal?"
He tried to sound pure calm but somehow I knew he had a hurricane inside of him.

It's weird isn't it? When we can blurt out so many unspoken words and never expressed emotions, we freeze. We can say so much but become tongue tied.

Same was going on with me right now. My so called 'mate' was telling me to spend some quality time with him.

So, I said something most powerful and eligible word I could with a raised eyebrow,

"Seriously?"

Okay. This time I got him. He opened his mouth a few times but didn't even make a word out. Then he closed his eye and sighed. Then, he said,

"Okay. It's just a dare and nothing more. Besides, I'm sure that your family must be forcing you to be with me. Directly or Indirectly. This way, they'll think that we're together or at least, trying to be together. So, I'll complete my dare and your family will be satisfied. What's so bothering?"

"Really? Why would you think that I would help you with your stupid games? I mean, think when was the first time we honestly talked. We're always fighting. "

"Leila, don't prove that you are the stupid girl I think you really are."
He silenced for a moment, awaiting my reaction but when he saw none, he continued,

"Don't you want everyone in your family to keep our mate thing a little low? It is the perfect chance Leila. This way, they won't push you."

Damn, it felt so bad and helpless when your enemy knew your weak spot and only he could help you out.

"Okay. I'll do it. But what am I going to tell everyone?

'Hey, you guys remember my mate, the one who's always fighting with me, the one I don't ever want to see?

He wants to spend some quality time with me. So, what you guys think? Isn't it amazing? It's going to be so much fun...

Huh? They're not that much of an idiot to leave me with a monster."

He looked at me with that excuse me? I'm right here and your talking sick about me look.

"I'll settle that. And honey, don't worry about that. A monster never considers another monster a monster."
He said with a fake grin.

"People I live with, they aren't monsters. They know perfectly how to feel which you're incapable of."
I fired back.

"You just changed the rules for everyone. You're not playing a fair game, Leila."
He said as if not expecting such a reaction from me.
