Sean's POV
I knew it'd be something time taking.
"So...I was thinking maybe we could have dinner together tonight." She told me. I didn't get why she was acting so...doubtful, as if I'd definitely say no.
"Yeah sure." I replied as I grabbed the glass of blood from the maid.
I took a sip. I hadn't realized how much thirsty I was.
"So...I thought maybe we could call Leila too. You know it's been so long and she hasn't visited us."
She told me while playing with her meal and escaping my gaze."I don't think it's a good idea. She has school and stuff. Maybe she won't be able to come." I said trying to sound casual.
"Yeah but still I thought-" She started but I cut her off,
"Why are you pushing it?! I told you there's no need!" I yelled at her with a slam on the table as my frustration got the best of me. She quivered at my sudden response.
"Sean." She said calmly.
"Eve. Please. It won't be the first time we would have dinner without her. I mean...we've been doing it for centuries then suddenly why it turns out that the food can't even slip off our throats, without her?" I tried to explain calmly.
She was utterly shocked. It was obvious. A mate usually doesn't react like this when it comes to meeting his mate.
Well, I said usually...
She just kept on blinking her eyes, all stunned.
I sighed and got up to leave for office. I wasn't even sure now if I'd come for dinner or not.
I went to my office. Max, his secretary, my secretary and a few more officers including Ben were already sitting there conducting a meeting.
They all stood up and greeted as I entered. I greeted them back with a nod clueing them to sit down. They all sat at my command.
I sat on a separate leather seat and figured out that the meeting was actually about the strange man we had seen in the video.
According to Ben, aunt Ruby had no apparent contact with him. Yet.
Everything in my life was so messed up. I wasn't talking to my mate. I yelled at my mother. And above all, I couldn't figure out who this 'mysterious guy' was even though I knew who he exactly was!
I ran a hand through my hair in exhaustion.
"I'm sure, it's him. Just a small proof and we'll get him."
I told them all."But sir, he's been gone for so long, probably dead. Why would he come back?" One of my officer asked as others nodded.
"Let's not forget he was, or is – a vampire. It's not just that easy to kill him. And yes, he does have quite a lot reasons to return." I informed them all.
"Besides, his intentions before disappearing are not hidden from any of us." Max added.
"What will we do with him when we get him, sir?" An officer questioned.
"Will we kill him immediately? After all, he's a serious threat to us." Another officer asked.
"No. First, we'll torture him, then we'll get the information we want and if we find something doubtful then-" I took a pause as I eyed everyone,
"We'll assassinate him." Everyone, including me, looked at each other for any signs of disapproval or queries but when found none, looked at me and nodded.
