"Kill them with success and bury them with a smile"

.....

Sean's POV

"...and so its market value will rise." Mark, my one of many official, said.

"But, how are you so much sure that it will be a successful project?" Max asked.

Right now, I was attending a very important meeting as my officials were quarreling over a community project. Max said it might be a failure while Mark said the total opposite.

I sighed because I couldn't pay attention to whatever they were saying.

Leila wasn't leaving my thoughts and this was so irritating. It was like when you're sleeping but still half awake with a completely active mind and all just because of some highly immature girl.

"What do you think about it Ryan?" Mark asked.

Great. Perfect timing.

"Uh...yeah. I think we should do this project. We work for the welfare and happiness of the kingdom more than we work for profit. Satisfaction of my people is far more important to me than money."

I said surprising everyone. Then, accidentally my eyes wandered off to the clock.

Oh Gosh! No!

It was Leila's off time in about 15 minutes.

Awesome Sean, just awesome.

I tried to appear as much calm as I could at outside but was panicking in the inside.

Everyone was discussing the amount of investment, when I sighed and stood up.

"Max, I want you to continue the meeting." I looked at him and continued as I looked towards everyone, "But, don't make any decisions. Send me all the details." Everyone nodded slowly as they all were confused and shocked.

"I...actually have to attend some...important business..." I said and looked at Max who was trying so hard to look serious.

If looks could kill, he would have been in the pits of hell by now.

I walked out of the room towards my car. I boosted up the speed and reached school in 10 minutes. Only 5 minutes were left.

Phew! That was close.

Some minutes later, I could sense Leila. The air around me would always change whenever Leila came around.

Oh no, she had a cringed nose with angry eyes and a wrinkled forehead.

She opened the door and sat in a hurry. She closed the door with a Slam!

I kept on staring her for just a few moments when she snapped at me.

"If you're done with you staring session, can we leave?"

"Uh..." I was out of words. I didn't know why, but I surely knew that it was one of the World's worst feeling to know that you couldn't say anything further.

"Sean. If you're not going to drive on, I'll walk back to my house." She warned me with a stern face.

I just nodded slowly and started driving. She sighed heavily and threw her bag at the back seat. Then she rested her head on the head restraint of the seat as she closed her eyes.

This due time, I again started staring her.

Though, I was a contestant of a staring competition. It was just an...instinct?
