"My brain has no heart. My heart has no brain. That's why when I speak my mind, I seem heartless and when I do what's in my heart, I seem thoughtless."

Sean's POV

I woke up a little grumpy but relaxed a second later. I took in my surroundings slowly to find myself sitting on the floor.

I saw Leila soundly sleeping just beside me. Her head was leaning towards my chest as her mouth was slightly open. Her right hand was on my chest while the left hand, dangling in her laps, held her phone tightly in the palm.

My right leg was around her and so was my right hand. It was like when you secretly try to protect someone rather hide them.

Yeah, most the people in these kind of situations would smile because it was just so cute!

But no, I didn't. A sarcastic girl lying beside you wasn't something I could call cute.

I carefully took Leila's right hand, which was resting on my chest, in my hand and pulled her along my own self. I carried her bridal way and put her on bed. I took her phone and placed it on her side table and with that, I took off her shoes. I gently pulled the sheets over her. She clenched the side of the sheets as soon as she felt it near her hand.

She changed her side and off to her LA LA Land. She was definitely sleeping like a corpse.

I went back in my room and took out a grey button up shirt with black jeans. I went into my bathroom as I took a hot shower. The water was boiling but I didn't mind. It was almost always cold in Wild heights or rather misty.

I recalled the events of yesterday. Stacey's call. Leila's worry. And that Jerk's stupidity.

I took the shower and got out of the bathroom as I got dressed up while rubbing a towel against my wet hair. I checked the time. Leila had only 20 minutes left to get ready.

It wasn't an emergency because Leila had the talent to get ready for school in 15 minutes. I guess, she could break her record and get ready in 5 minutes too.

I slightly knocked on her door. But as I expected, she didn't reply.

Corpse don't reply, remember.

I gently turned the knob and opened the door narrowly. I went inside her room and somehow, felt a little uncomfortable. It was weird to be in a sleeping girl's room without her knowing. As if I was violating her privacy, which I surely wasn't.

I slowly walked up to her side and gently shook her. She growled and swat me away with thrice the energy I shook her. I shook her again, a little forceful this time.

"What?!" She yelled at me.

"Don't you have to go to school?" I asked politely.

"Of course, I have to!" She informed me.

"So get up!" I said in an alarming tone. Just tried to wake her up a little quick but failed. She didn't bother.

"Okay, grandpa." She said annoyed.
