Escaping Far Cry 3

Chapter 14

I was driving to Dr. Earnhardt's house when I heard screaming coming from the jungle. I stopped my car and parked it on the side of the road and I took out my gear. I walked in front of the jungle and stopped to hear the scream. For a few minutes nothing happened and then I heard a woman scream and I ran into the jungle. The screaming was getting louder and louder and I arrived at a shack where the screaming was coming from. I tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge so I broke it down. The sight before me was so fucking disturbing I couldn't stop staring at it. It was a young woman nailed to the wall naked and bloody. Now here's the creepy part...the girl's still alive. She kept screaming at the top of her lungs and I didn't know what to do. I stepped on a creaky board and that got her attention, as soon as she saw me she screamed even louder.

"Please stop screaming! I'm here to help you!" I yelled over her screaming.

"GO AWAY!" She screamed at me. I went closer and she screamed even louder. I saw a hammer on a table and I grabbed it. I went up to her, but I noticed that the nails were hammered deeply into her hands, arms and legs(plus other spots that I shouldn't say). I dropped the hammer and backed out the door, but I bumped into some one. I turned around and it was a Rakyat warrior. He stared at me with horror and screamed at me in another language, then he ran off into the jungle. I ran outside after him, but lost track of him. I went back inside and the girl stopped screaming. She stared at me with lifeless eyes...she died. I walked out of the shack and back into my car and I sat there. Who could have done that? Why would they do something so horrible? Right before I zoned out, some one tapped on the car window and I looked to see who it was. It was Dennis. I got out of the car and greeted him.

"Blake, what are you doing here? Did you hear the screaming in the jungle?"

"...yes."

"Really? Did you find out what it was?"

"It was a naked girl nailed to the wall. She died with her eyes open." I stared at the ground.

"Are you alright?"

"Oh yeah, sure I'm alright after I just watched a girl die being nailed to the wall. Of course I'm not fucking alright Dennis! I just saw the most disturbing thing in my entire life and you think I'm "alright". Do you think I'm used to this kind if shit?" I wanted to punch Dennis in the face, but I couldn't, he didn't do anything to me.

"I'm sorry...do you mind showing me where the shack is?"

"...sure." I led Dennis to the shack and I stood outside while he went inside. He came out shaking his head in disapproval.

"Do you know who might have done this?" I asked.

"Probably one of Vaas's men."

"Are you sure?"

"Not really sure. They never do things like this."

"If I ever go back home, I'm going to need a lot of therapy."

"Hahaha! You sure about going back home? You don't like the island?"

"No Dennis, I love this island so fucking much I wish to live in it forever."

"You are a very sarcastic person."

"Thanks. Well I kind of have to go somewhere right now." I waved a goodbye to Dennis and he waved back. I went into my car and I drove off.

(Arriving At Dr. Earnhardt's Place...)

I arrived at the greenhouse and I walked in to find Dr. Earnhardt asleep on his desk. He seemed to be writing about some kind of formula. I ignored it and walked into the house. I went upstairs and noticed Daisy wasn't there. I yelled Daisy' s name, but I didn't hear a response. I walked over to Dr. Earnhardt and lightly shook him awake.

"Hmmmm?" Dr. Earnhardt looked at me with tired eyes.

"Dr. Earnhardt, do you know where Daisy is?" I asked.

"Daisy? She is some where I cannot say."

"Please tell me."

"I can't."

"Why not?"

"Jason has forbidden me to tell any of Vaas's pirates."

"So you're not going to tell me at all?"

"Look Blake, I don't know if you're good or evil because you work for Vaas."

"Do you think I'm working for Vaas because I want to?" He looked at me for a moment and then he got up and led me to a cave not far from his house.

"Daisy is in here. But I must tell you that Jason will be bringing his friends down here to hide them from the pirates."

"I understand. I won't stay long, I just want to chat with Daisy."

"Alright, but if Jason finds you down there, I'm not going to be able to help you."

"Don't worry doctor, I'll be fine."

He walked away and I went down into the cave. It was dark for a little bit and then I saw light. There was a boat and a campfire in the cave. Not only that, but there was a small food offering that said "eat me", but I didn't eat it. I walked around, until I spotted Daisy. I waved at her and she waved back and ran towards me to hug me.

"Blake! You would not believe what I found! I found a boat and my boyfriend's little brother!"

"Aren't you forgetting som-, why the hell is he here?"

I looked to see who was behind Daisy and it was Liza. I stared wide eyed at her and she glared at me. Daisy looked back and forth at Liza and I. Liza had a wrench in her hand and she came after me. I held up my hands to block her attack when Daisy went in between us and she held Liza back.

"Liza please calm down!"

"No way! I'm going to kill this fucking bastard for almost killing me and Jason!"

"What do you mean?"

"He almost burned me and Jason alive!"

"Blake, is this true?"

"Hey, at least you made it out alive! Plus, you're lucky that I didn't let my boss kill Jason!" When I mentioned Jason she slowly put down the wrench. I stopped being tense and I sighed a sigh of relief.

"Anyways, you guys would have survived."

"How?"

"I trusted Jason that he would be able to escape a burning building and save his friend at the same time."

"You mean girlfriend?" Daisy pointed out.

"Sorry." I said.

"Where is Oliver?" Liza asked changing the subject.

"Oliver? He is back at my Compound in a shack."

"Wait, what is this about burning buildings and friends? Also about you taking Oliver to your Compound?" Daisy asked confused.

"It's a long story. I'm sure she will tell you." I pointed at Liza. She nodded her head and went back to the boat.

"So was Jason down here before me?" I asked.

"Yup. Just a few minutes before you. He came to dump Liza here and go off doing his own thing. I'm sure he'll be coming after you for Oliver."

"Well, that's not going to be pretty, anyways I need you to promise me something."

"What is it?"

"Don't tell Jason I was here, alright? He might kill me the next time I come by."

"I promise."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome. You should get going, I need to work on the boat."

"Right! See you later Daisy! You too Liza!"

"Fuck you!" I heard her yell from the boat.

I walked out of the cave and headed to the car. I got in and drove back to Vaas's Compound hoping that Vaas didn't kill Oliver.
