CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
I had the strangest dream this Friday night and last night. Again. Truth is, I had that same bizarre dream I had before. The dream wherein I chased that same figure up the stairs and I saw the same three items. The difference from before was the ending. This dream I had last night ended in a place with a lot of benches and trees-the park, I guessed-and as I sat there in one of the benches, I felt something under my hand. And it was a notebook. Not just a notebook, but the same replica of Aira’s notebook containing nonsense about my lovelife.
Then After that, I saw the same figure in front of me and I woke up.
“Ah, oo. Sige. Nakapagpaalam naman na ko. Asahan mo diyan within 10 minutes.”
“Sige, bye. Huwag mo kalimutang dalin yun ah.”
“Opo boss. Sige din, bye.”
Call ended.
I waited for Aira until I heard someone knock on my door.
“Alex, si Aira oh.” –Kuya Vi
“Hi.” Mahinang sabi ni Aira.
“Hi. Late ka ng 5 minutes. Salamat kuya.”
Umupo siya sa sahig, katapat ko. Pero nakatingin lang ako kay Kuya Vi.
“Ay, sabi ko nga usapang babae. Sige, babye.”
Hayy. Salamat naman.
“So, anong meron, bes?
Puntahan kaya natin?”
“baka wala yun dun. Sayang lang effort natin. Tsaka gusto kong tignan yung notebook na yun.”
“Well, about the notebook… Ala sakin eh.”
“Ala sayo?”
“Ang alam ko kasi nasa’yo.”
“Wala sakin.”
