Chapter 50- Destiny Unleashed Part 2

Peter Parker, Venus Deterzo, and Hippo Lumpkins watched as the High Evolutionary concluded, "The choice is yours, Rebels. Your actions will decide the fate for your people. For you can save them from annihilation and your time is up." Venus said in shock, "He can't do this!" Then they saw a building explode as Peter added, "Looks like he already has."

A building gets demolished as a female green and yellow Bestial with pink short hair holding a microphone reported on camera, "I'm here live as the High Evolutionary continues to bury out the Rebels." She looked to see Sir Ram with two Machine Men and added, "Here come the project coordinators now." The reporter went up to them and asked, "Sir Ram, would you care to comment?" He stops and answered, "No comment is necessary. All you have to do is watch." Sir Ram led the reporter and her cameraman to another building about to be destroyed when a human woman begged, "Please, my home! It's where I live!" Sir Ram chuckled nonchalantly, "Do you believe for one minute that I care?" Lord Tyger went up to him as he stated, "Your lust for destruction is disconcerting, Sir Ram." Sir Ram rebutted, "As is your lack of it, my Lord. But perhaps you should retire at the safety of Wundagore. Let me handle the matter." Lord Tyger gritted his teeth at him.

Hippo was dropped off at a hospital as Spider-Man and Venus swung around and met up with their teammates. "We have to stop all this," said Nightingale. "We cannot bear the despair and evil emotions that going on." Ricochet muttered, "And I thought our greatest battle was stopping the Synoptic from invading our city." Spider-Man nodded, "Let's go!"

Lord Tyger watched the building about to be demolished as he sighed, "This is a day of infamy." Sir Ram stated, "It is the creator's will. Surely you do not oppose him?" Lord Tyger reluctantly agreed, "Carry on." Sir Ram ordered a Public Eye officer, "Prepare to fire!" A web line attached itself to the bazooka as Spider-Man pulled it away and quipped, "Thanks, guys! This could be what I've always wanted!" He slammed it on the building as he and his teammates landed. "Oops," added Spider-Man. "I'll be sure to replace that one from the weapons of mass destruction store!" Sir Ram shouted, "Spider-Man! Stop them!" The Public Eye and the Machine Men blasted at Team SVRN who dodged them. Venus coiled her whip around a Public Eye officer and flung him away. Spider-Man coiled a Machine Man in webs as Ricochet threw an explosive disc into the robot's head. Nightingale shot her mystic arrows at the Public Eye and Machine Men as Venus spun her whip to shield the blasts. Lord Tyger and Sir Ram ran to their speeder bikes and flew toward the battle as more and more Machine Men and Public Eye blasted at Team SVRN. "We are vastly outnumbered!" said Nightingale. Spider-Man ordered, "Up!" Team SVRN ran up onto a building but got blasted by several more Machine Men. They flew down as debris piled on top of them. Spider-Man and his teammates started to get up but Sir Ram flew down and yelled, "Stand down!" He shot from his speeder bike's gun as Spider-Man quickly lifted the debris off of his team but was stopped by Sir Ram. He glared at Team SVRN so much he set his speeder bike's gun to maximum power and was about to kill them but Lord Tyger ordered, "Hold your fire, Sir Ram!" Sir Ram ignored him and pressed the trigger just when Lord Tyger's bike crashed onto his fellow Knight's. The laser shot passed Ricochet and it destroyed a Machine Man. Sir Ram bellowed, "Get out of my way!" Lord Tyger reminded, "The High Evolutionary's order was to take Team SVRN alive." Then Team SVRN got out the debris and began to swing away. Sir Ram growled, "He's getting away and it's on your head!" He and Lord Tyger gave chase as they went blasting their guns at them. Team SVRN got cornered by Lady Ursula and Lady Vermin with even more Public Eye and Machine Men. Spider-Man quipped, "What is this, a clown communion?" They blasted at him to which Team SVRN dodged but got blasted. Ricochet grunted, "Anyone ever teach you how to play fair?" Then the Rebels flew in and started shooting at the Machine Men and Public Eye. "The Knights aren't the only ones with big guns!" said John Jameson. Lord Tyger commanded, "We are outgunned. Follow back!" Then the Knights of Wundagore retreated with Git Hoskins firing directly on the back of Sir Ram's bike.

Spider-Man smiled with relief, "I gotta tell ya, John-John. You're one bonafide hero after all!" John replied, "Don't congratulate me yet, web-slinger. This isn't over by a long shot." The humans and Faunus were angrily arguing with the Rebels, blaming them for what was going on.

The High Evolutionary watched this on his screen as he remembered, "Always so eager to turn on one another. That proves their inferiority." Lord Tyger's face appeared on his screen and reported, "Team SVRN and the Rebels are positioned as you requested, your highness." The High Evolutionary nodded, "Excellent work, Tyger. Time for a taste of modulated brain harmonics."

The yelling continued as Spider-Man interrupted, "Whoa whoa whoa, hold on folks! We're on your side!" Then speakers on a building as they blasted noise on the crowd. Even Git was getting untangled. Venus covered her ears as she shouted, "What's going on?!" Nightingale gritted, "Some kind of sonic weapon!" Karen O'Malley screamed as everyone felt faint as Ricochet yelled, "It was a trap! They knew we'd fight!" Then Team SVRN went unconscious.

Spider-Carnage laughed, "The clone got his comeuppance. Next stop, Laboratory 572." The symbiotes agreed as they went on their way with Scream behind. She took a look at the screen with Venus on it before following her fellow symbiotes.

Spider-Man woke up and found himself in a cage with laser bars. "The last thing I remember is the fat lady singing loud," groaned the web-slinger. Spider-Man turned to his left and saw John Jameson say, "Spider-Man..." He got up as Spider-Man asked, "How're you doing, John boy? Your head feels as bad as mine?" Bromley and Git were also in their own cages. John widened, "Karen? Where's Karen?" Nightingale groaned, "We overheard she was taken to Wundagore." The two other teammates got up as Venus grumbled, "Why spoil a perfect day?" Then the High Evolutionary and his Knights came in as Ricochet muttered, "Too late." The High Evolutionary asked, "I trust you slept well?" Spider-Man replied dryly, "Oh yeah, the only thing missing was the mints on my pillow." The High Evolutionary growled, "I have grown weary of you and your friends, Spider-Man! So much so I have come to a decision." Ricochet said, "Oh, I can't wait to hear this." The High Evolutionary ordered, "Awaken the rest of the prisoners and take them to dome 2." Lord Tyger bowed, "Yes, your highness." Lady Vermin went over to Spider-Man and said disappointed, "Tsk tsk. Such a waste." She walked away to carry out the orders.

The High Evolutionary turned to them as he stated, "After last night's encounter, it has come clear to me that humans and Faunus are lower in the evolutionary ladder than I thought. You are nothing but a blight in the face of Remnant. Which is why I've decided to eradicate the problem." Bromley said, "Not without a chase, sharp-top." The High Evolutionary glowed his right fist and said, "The demonstration of my modulated brain harmonics is merely a taste of what's to come." Several wires tapped onto the prisoners' neck as the High Evolutionary explained, "By modulating your brainwaves, I will be able to test out the harmonics like never before to a power strong enough to destroy the minds of both the human and Faunus race." Lord Tyger asked in shock, "What, you'll destroy them all? The entire two species?" The High Evolutionary barked, "Silence! Or would you like me to add the mind of a Bestial to the mix?" Lord Tyger stood down as Sir Ram smirked. Spider-Man questioned, "You think this'll prove your superiority?" Venus hissed, "Well, I'll just say the opposite!" The High Evolutionary responded, "Of what you say is of no consequence." He activated the machine as Spider-Man thought, 'Brain harmonics? How do I counteract that?' Then he realized, 'We're talking about sonics, right? If I could sound up my suit's sonic output, I might be able to counteract the High Evolutionary's machine.' The High Evolutionary announced, "Say farewell to the human and Faunus race."
